I tried to read the first book of Wheel of Time series a couple of years ago.

A pretty standard backwater folkish human village with no contact with the outside world for generations, until one day the main character and his father are attacked by orcs (or whatever they were) in their house, while eating dinner! Then herp derp a Wizard girl and Aragorn the Ranger pop out of nowhere, herp derp the main character isn't his father's child but an orphan of unknown parentage (chosen one), and for some reason this all means they have to go on an adventure. The first few chapters of Eye of the World felt like the first chapter of Neverwinter Nights, herpa derp the Academy is being attacked by teleporting monsters!

Most poorly written fantasy hack writing I've had the displeasure of having vomited over me, even RA Salvatore is better.
This is kind of sad to read to be honest, the judging books by cover phrase comes to mind. You forgot to add the threesome he later has with his lovers and the world being a colony world that has regressed so far that high science from yesterday is high sorcery. Its the later books 12 and other that start to drag their feet and focus on stories that nobody cares.

Other forums have been flooding with "CONFIRMED FOR WHEEL OF TIME". It almost burns. PEOPLE ON THE INTERNET ARE WRONG, HHNNNGGGHHH!!

When has Obsidian ever advertised like this for a license? Never. Furthermore, I checked on the quotes and looked up names from the hidden text, and none of them appear in that book series.

They're going to be pissed when it turns out to be some obscure idea for a new IP that only the hardcore fans have heard about.

We loved working on those games, and feel there's a real nostalgia for them, and we're looking to you for help to bring them back!
So it's a joint KS with Herve after all.
