I also enjoyed this update.
Both Druids and Wizards sound good, I haven't read the text of the update yet but I watched the video and they both sound fine. It may be Sawyer's version of Wizard and Druid, but they both sound fun to play.

It is a shame to see a lack of the traditional wizard C&C spells like Sleep, Web, Grease etc but those would probably be too OP for the design principles.

This list doesn't include all spells so there is still a chance that we get some of those. For example web is shown in the trailer (timestamp), although it could be a spell exclusive to some monsters.

This is why Urquhart should come on the Codex instead of a shithouse like RPS. At least, we like GOOD games. it's not like journalists don't steal anyway. anything posted here would be on RPS/Kotaku/whatever else other people read.
That begs the question, why don't we make any interviews with Obsidian employess (Feargus, MCA, Josh, Tim etc)? I doubt that nobody would be available. When we make interviews, we take them seriously and well thought out, not an edgy trolling.

RPS: And yet, that was a consistent complaint in reviews from both critics and fans [about bugs in SP].
This makes me rage now and made me rage when the first reviews came out. SP was a relatively bug free game, and I hated when the press cried "bugggy" just because of a few small bugs. But at least even the mainstream fuckers in the comments section give RPS shit for this interview.

 The day before PoE comes out people will still be insisting it will be delayed.

They probably won't even notice when it does and they'll keep right on insisting.

It might be delayed, but Obsidian seem very very sure that they're going to make this year. They usually avoid talking about things they're not sure about, so I'm inclined to take that seriously.

Yeah Paradox isn't funding or directing our development in any way. They're handling things that would be very hard/time consuming for us: physical fulfillment and general distribution. Over half of our backers are in Europe. I'm not sure why anyone would want us to spend their money and our time personally handling fulfillment. It was heartwarming to see Stoic figuring out how to get thousands of Banner Saga posters out of their house and shipped out to people but that's not really what developers are built to do.

Ok, let's put this talk to rest.

Hard to believe. Obsidian is an expert on delaying games
Hardly. They're practically the poster-child for why delays can be a good thing.

Yeah, exactly. Because they've had a lot of practice with it. Which is what Andross said.
... They're famous for cranking games out in a very short time span with a lot of bugs left unfixed. AP and SP being the rare exceptions, and SP was due to very unusual publisher issues.

18 months for a Fallout 3 total conversion is hardly a "very short time span". And KOTOR 2 was absolutely intended to be delayed, but the publisher interfered. Meanwhile, DS3, AP, SP, NWN2, Lonesome Road, Honest Hearts, and Old World Blues were all delayed at least once.

18 months is an incredibly short time to create a game of the scope of New Vegas. The others you mentioned were pushed back a month from the initial release date? In game development terms, that isn't even a delay.

Ok, let's put this talk to rest.

I am concerned that Paradox will just go all "industry standard" on the physical boxed copies and I'll end up with something cheaply made (ie. save every penny possible) and decidedly NOT old-school like Harebrained Schemes did with SR. I wanted and paid a lot of money for a big box, map, thick manual, etc. like many of my vintage games sitting on my shelf right now!! They're outsourcing this to a publisher that probably doesn't care about that aspect of Kickstarter that got people like myself excited about cRPGs again. Granted the game itself is the most important thing here but I could have pledged a lot less for "just the game." I paid a premium for the collector/ nostalgia part and hope Obsidian reminds their new partners of that fact.

RPS: You're really a failure of a human being, nothing you have ever worked on resonated with anyone or had any kind of impact. Do you contemplate suicide often?

Game Developer: Well, not exactly. I mean all we can do is keep trying to please whatever audience we have out there. We love making games so we'll keep trying. You have to keep working at it.

RPS: I guess. Thanks for your time.
