So, what do you guys think the chances of any kind of screens being released before the end of the KS are? I still haven't backed due to my rage at all that has been said so far, but I'm 50/50 at this point. Some graphicswhoring will probably push me over the edge...

Mock ups perhaps. Zero chance of actual screenshots.

You think so? Didn't the interview with Brennecke say that he had already seen a screen?

Releasing WIP-screenshots or mockups could very well work against them...remember what happened with Two Guys from Andromeda with their techdemos?

I can't believe that we are slurping this forest of shit up.

It's not about slurping. It's about not being repetitive and boring. Everybody has heard about the cooldowns and discussed them to death. The designers have heard our rage at full volume. Move the fuck on!

There seems to be a trend of people upgrading their pledges now. Cheapskates: Watch the Kickstarter page, you may be able to grab a $20 tier.

Kind of worried that they didn't mention cool-downs. Of course, this was probably planned in advance, but considering the bombshell that was, I would have hoped they would have gone into detail. Perhaps they're not quite done making the system yet?
http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/60875-merged-cooldown-thread/page__st__120#entry1219480 Nothing more needs to be said. :M

A dead horse is characterized by the horse actually being, you know, dead. This particular horse will be alive and fucking well until Sawyer et al. actually fucking explains what they mean when they say cooldowns, instead of dropping vague hints (an obvious result of the fact that they don't even know themselves how it's going to look exactly).

Honestly they will just keep everyone guessing during the KS so there MIGHT be a CHANCE that they won't put it in. Then after they have all your jewgold they will put them in and say "What, we said we might put them in, what are you complaining about?" and no one will be able to say jack shit.

I don't think they're going to explain. Pledge or don't pledge. There's really nothing left to say about this issue. That's why it's a dead horse.

Sawyer specifically stated that he had no intention whatsoever to do cooldowns between castings. Sorry I don't have a link. It was in one of those merged cooldown thread incarnations. That last big one. Near the end when the discussion turned into a fast paced chat room after he posed The Question. He is still considering the idea of cooldowns-as-rest however, which still sucks, but it's a lot easier to make that optional and at least it would not be nearly as bad as the whole cast, wait, cast, wait thing. It would suck of course if the insta-rest button were mandatory so that the party state was reset completely between encounters. Walking back to camp may be boring, but insta-rest makes the whole game boring instead. So, no, he isn't using the term "cooldowns" in the traditional way at all. That's what I thought too at first. That if he didn't mean the typical sort of cooldowns he should call it something else. It's more of a between-encounter-timer than a between-castings-timer that he's considering.

It is an UN-ncessary and cheap compromise with challenge of the game. I.E. games were tactical BECAUSE they did not allow this kind of shortcut.

Then Sawyer should call it D&D 4ed "inspired" (market speech for clone). I still won't be pleased, but at least I'll know it ain't DAO reloaded.
