  • 2012: "Wahh, the industry is male-dominated! We want our needs catered to, including romances and a 'skip combat' button!"

To be honest, I can hardly blame them. When I think about the clusterfuck that was the combat in Dragon Age 2 I kinda wish there was such a button there.

We could move the entire thread to GD. Make it more lively.

Really all we're doing is jerking each other off under the pretext that Obsididrones are Obsididrones. We'd fit right in.

You know, your avatar gives the words "jerking each other off" and "We'd fit right in" unexpected dimensions.

Grab the Codex by the pussy
Eh, I see where Jaesun's coming from. This thread is just a lot of retarded fucking around, but at least ridiculing Obsidrones and debating health mechanics for forty pages is on-topic, kinda.

There really isn't anything to actually discuss. We don't know shit until Tim and Sawyer have the big reveal and show us the finished combat mechanics. The rest is just mindless speculation. Well that's pretty much the only thing that interests me.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
What I'd do if I was designing an RPG:

*add romances
*all the romanceable chicks would be fat and ugly with a hideous new york style nasal voice
*all the romanceable dudes would be short, sniveling rat faced cowards. at least one would be a pedophile that rejects your character for having pubic hair.
*pretend homosexuality and bisexuality don't even exist
*advertise the game as containing complex, deep, meaningful romances that will make fans of the genre shiver with pleasure
*when the trailer talks about romance, show clips of hot scantly clad women and body builder men gyrating
*hide in cleve's bunker once the game is released

Heh, if they end up thinking I'm one of them that means I could get invited to speak at a feminist gaming panel. 200 million youtube views or bust. :smug:

- Thanks.

I'm hoping they improve on the movement nodes. Sometimes when you get too many party members trying to fit through a hallway, you'll end up with one jackass going in the opposite direction and into a dead-end. It's extremely annoying when I just want to move my party from one side of the map to another. Otherwise, you got no gripes from me. I've always personally liked the Infinity Engine in those DnD games. It just feels like a good fit with how it lets you manipulate all of your party members.

Didn't Black Isle originally rip RTwP from some strategy war game that they were going to make but scrapped it?

You messed things up.

Bioware developed Infinity Engine and was trying to make a fantasy RTS game out of it. However, Interplay, when it was approached by Bio, decided that the engine would fit a cRPG game better. Thus was born Baldur's Gate.

- Oh, it was Bioware. For some reason I thought it was Black Isle.

It's a shame that Bioware went so derpy. They did some decent work back then. Here's hoping Project Eternity gives me that BG2/IWD/PS:T feel.

From the shitty respec thread:

Sounds to me like you are just trying to make the game cater to an exclusive few instead of a majority of players for your own ego stroking. And it sounds like instead of legitimate arguments you tend to move toward name calling. I have no idea if the game will be hard or easy, but it sounds like your in game character might roll a higher intel than your real life persona.

And in his following post here's of what he accuses the one he's talking to:
Let me see if I can make it clearer. You use negative and slandering wording to try to validate your opinion. Its a last resort of a person with no facts. In no way is being able to respec a character a "handicap" mechanic. If anything is a "preference" mechanic. And you can talk all the trash in the world but it won't make your opinion any more valid, or in this case, true.
Why are Bioturds given human rights again?

Regarding the thread's argument I wonder if I should bother posting against the feature at all considering Sawyer already seems to have a strong opinion in this regard(i.e. toggles for everyone)?

Respecing? Seriously? When you're talking about action RPGs and MMOs, I kind of get the reasoning behind them, but for any actual RPGs respecing doesn't really have any place. What one day you're an intimidating greatsword specialist and the next you wake up and can't use a greatsword at all, but are fantastic with a rapier and witty repartee?

I know it may not actually be in the game anyway, but respecing is an earmark of :decline: and :retarded:.

They don't ban people, they just put you on mod status and all your posts need to be approved before they post. Worse than banning, imo.
