so i made me a space elf
burned thru first missions - so easy its bad and all that
chosen klingons
and then ...
i get recked on next mission with killing nausicans ...
simply put either i suck at this really bad or i need help with geting myself some cheapo ride capable of blowing shit up and not dieing so much
any comments are welcome as im stuck for now

What ship are you flying? When I was levelling my KDF-aligned Rommy I got the Vandal as soon as I could and used that until I was able to snag an end-game ship. The Vandal is a mandatory purchase anyway since it comes with the best console in the entire game.

Guardian Cruiser got revealed and statted. Pretty ship, uses a similar set-up to D'deridex (Lt Eng/Int boff instead of EnTac). Depending on ICD, the trait it has is either roflpwnage or total shit. But at least it's pretty, classy, and comes with a good loadout for Aux2Batting.

Other three non-Int ships revealed so far statted as well. Mat'Ha has a trait unlock that looks beastly (upgrades B:Os to caused reduced radius Charged Particle Burst on target, and upgrades High Yield to cause lowered radius Photonic Shockwave on impact). Dauntless still looks determined to be the ugliest ship in Starfleet.

I am very eagerly awaiting the release of the Muahaha. My tac Gorn can't wait to get his claws on that ship.

well im flyin that ship i got when i started tutorial aka THE first and only ship
thankfully its still x2 xp event so painfully going for max lvl will be faster
will neeed only to look for some better weapons and try later to blitz as much as possible

If you get up to the mission "Tradecraft" (about 3 or 4 missions along from where you are now, I think), the Paratrinic Shield reward is excellent, and should take care of your shield slot until you go seeking end-game gear. This is especially true in a 2x XP environment because the shield power goes up with your level.

If your ship is generally weak, maximise use of cloaking. When you drop cloak you get +damage for a short time. There's also those nice singularity powers that tend to be handy, especially if you can get your enemies bunched up.

and i think most of my problems steem from trying to smash&kill klingon style while playing sci romulan ... need to reevaluate my play style prob

If you would spend less time on Drozana "testing your fire extinguisher" and more time "l2p noob" you wouldn't suck so much!

But seriously, I just brought a RomKlangTac to 50 and I didn't have any problems flying free ships with common weapons from the store. Don't forget Rom ships have less power than klang/fed boats. Set weapon power to max, do evil alpha strikes and don't forget to use the quantum absorbation singularity power. It's more awsome than I can put into words. Activating Hazard Emitters and cloaking during a fight lets you go escape alive and return for another alpha strike!
Shield power is for amateurs anyway, real man just use TT/ST/TSS/EPtS to keep them up!

You say you are still flying the first ship you get? Don't you get a free ship when ranking up, or this that just for silver players?
If not AND if you are planning to fly the D'Deridex endgame (which selfrespecting Romulard wouldn't) I recommend buying this one http://sto.gamepedia.com/D'ridthau_Warbird_Battle_Cruiser as your lvl 30 ship. I comes with one half of the console set (the T5 DD has the other half) you will want to have for the +2 extra turnrate anyway. Using a DD with the antiproton beam arrays (they're free!) from the borg mission might not look very romulan, but the high crit chance from being a Romulard makes them devastating.

To emphasize again:

The. Best. Console.

I consider the Plasmonic Leech slightly overrated, but I may just be cranky because my mains are Fed(alligned).

Make Klang(allied) alts, farm catfood and grind the reps. Well... actually it's just like Neverwinter. Only difference is: you do not need to get Leadership to 20 first. Your farmhands don't even need to be lvl50, as long as they can leave the sector, use doffs and are provided with good doffs for marauding.

Because something that expensive is kinda hard to sell and there are two other fuckers trying to sell their own CrtDx4 AP beams and they keep undercutting me and each other.

If the price keeps dropping at the current rate it will be worth a few hundred mil negative EC by tomorrow.

FUUUU, stay away from that upgrade shit completely! Only putting an item into the upgrade mask without even upgrading it fucks up certain items. My Romulard Plasma ground weaponary has lost it's modification just by trying to look what the upgrade would change. And according to the boards the Kinetic Cutting Beam looses it's mods as well.

Quality programming at work.

It took me a lot of rep boxes to get my criticool supersoaker, if I don't get those mods back I'm going to be pretty pissed.

The MU Ha'feh (aka the fat dead pigeon) is actually a pretty good ship. The standard one is the MUPE you already know, just with cloak. The MU variant exchanges one ensign eng BOFF and a console for a sci BOFF/console which I even consider a better setup. 2 engi consoles are enough for an escort.

The MU Ha'apax is.... not so good. Trading 1 tac BOFF/console for engi sucks. 25% less damage. But since you won't spend potatos on Lonestar's Space Winnebago, it will do. Broadsides look funny with those things, since the hardpoints are placed at the wings where machineguns on propeller airplanes would be.
