How brainwashed can you be if you think that years and years of stale same old everything is a good thing?
That very strategy is what gives the game its longevity.
That, and it also being completely free to play.

If the devs left the balance at, say, 1.3.0 state, I'd have dropped the game ages ago.

You get new content (which is the one giving longevity), you get balance changes because the devs are not perfect. The MTG way is DELIBERATE imbalance to exploit human behavior and is a fucking plague.

For MTG, sure, because you need to buy the new cards to play. But PoE isn't charging you money to try the new or improved skills. Upsetting the balance so people have a reason to try using old items or skills again is like getting that content all over again. If anything, they're too timid about breaking existing builds. The double dipping meta went on for WAY too long and made tons of stuff basically obsolete.

Only thing that devs do deliberately is to introduce new items to collect to force people to buy stash tabs.

Yeah, the bajillion token leagues have been pretty blatant lately. And cards. Jesus christ cards can go die in a fire. Combining shitty inventory clutter with shitty trading all to basically split some obscenely rare drops (because common drops given by cards are sub-vendor trash) into fractions so you can get like 1/80th of a mirror slightly more often than you'd get a fucking mirror.

some excerpts from the today's beta report - that shit got me crazy excited:
1) There are now always two treasure keys available from optional trap gauntlets and puzzles. (in the merc+uber labs)
2) Better rewards from silver doors in the merc+uber labs.
3) Finally we are using any spare time to make some minor layout adjustments to the third and Endgame Labyrinth as well. Ideally adjusting all golden door sections into a choice between two paths, with the key in the same area as the door.
4) Changes to various maps, mostly around addressing the current meta. We want to see different shaping strategies in use, and at the very least not the "shaped strand meta".

If it goes through, I'd be a happy uberlab camper swimming in the sweet sweet sea of strand boys' tears (until the next best thing comes along for them).
Of course, that shit has to happen first, though. The GGG can always pull the Cleve.

Is the lab enchant thing that it now corrupts items staying? If so its going to be fucking impossible to get correct enchant on your gear.

It's already fucking impossible even now. Ran merciless lab.50+ times and not a single useful enchant for my build...
Also couldn't find "the swirling fear" trial in maps with why 90 lvl gladiator. So haven't set foot inside uberlab yet...

But while playing latest turmoil race first trial I found was that one.:argh::argh::argh::argh::argh::argh::argh::argh::argh::argh::argh::argh::argh::argh::argh:

i think they want to reward you for not rushing through those 3 Izaro phases but instead spending time looting, looking for chests and solving puzzles for extra keys.
makes sense and i like that.
finally it will feel ok to explore and clear the lab.

the corruption thingy was confirmed to be a dsiplay bug.

I will never feel it is OK to explore and clear it because any random net disconnect and you lose all progress and need to start over (which is even worse with Uber Lab as you need to use the token). With normal mapping that is not a big problem as 6 portals are usually enough but I hate the one try method of lab runs. I always run all 4 labs ignoring everything and when I reach the end I rush to click on Ascendancy thingy first before I do anything else.

If you honestly fear about losing all your progress to a disconnect it either happend once or twice and you have the attention span of a godlfish or your internet connection is garbage. Same goes for everyone who says that he doesn't play hc because of disconnects.

We finally got a release date: August 4th. Sooner than I expected with some features being delayed during beta but they had a lot of time to think about when they were gonna ship 3.0 so they must feel confident enough that they can pull it off. The whining about the "early" release and "Ailment builds/CI being unplayable" has grown to levels where I have to vomit whenever I read them. That was to be expected though with the game growing and attracting a lot of new people during the past year, which incidentally was the only time since the conception of the game where the meta did stay the same for multiple leagues due to smaller balance changes. GGG tried that approach and the game didn't really evolve over that time compared to the previous years where heavy-handed nerfs to the good skills/builds forced everyone to think outside the box. I guess a lot of these new people have never experienced a game that did not include double-dipping being ridiculous and the inevitable evolution of any build to go Life > CI > LL.
PoE is like Legos or MtG. Playing with it is a lot more fun when you occasionally smash everything into little pieces again instead of slowly chipping away at it. Leaves way more room for creativity. Changing small blocks or a single card in a whole deck was never that much fun, building something new out of a hundred or thousand little pieces was the true enjoyment. For those that do not enjoy this there have always been builds that were in the middle of the pack and still able to clear any content comfortably.

What does attention span have to do with random net disconnects?
Yes my net is shit.

Reading comprehension would be appreciated but that doesn't seem to be your strong suit. So I'll explain it again: Way too many people whine about "lab/hc is shit because a single disconnect ruins everything" when it only happened to them once. That speaks for a low attention span. The other side of the coin would be people who regularly disconnect. You should expect that your experience is going to suffer when you play an online-only game with a shitty connection.
For the majority of people the problem you described is non-existant. I described the only two subsets of people that are affected by the problem you mentioned. Changing lab mechanics just for those people would be asinine.

But really, I just cannot stand all this whining anymore about stuff that has been in the game for years.

My reading skills are good, you just put stuff from your brain on "paper" without checking if it is readable by anyone else. But this second post of yours shows you can actually write like normal people. Tnx for the explanation.
Yes, my situation is not common but still makes lab runs for me shitty experience. There are also situations like stuff happening in RL that you normally solve with a town portal (and using one of the 6 map portals) but in lab you need to find a corner or something and hope you are still alive when you are back.
Also server issues happen often enough that are from GGG side.

Don't commit to something that takes 10-20minutes when you don't have 10-20 minutes. If emergencies happen, who cares about a game. Izaro rooms/lobbies are safe all the time, so are safe-zones in trap-gauntlets (because traps generally kill all monsters approaching you).

In the end those situations are annoying, but you either log out so you don't die on HC, or just do what you wrote in SC. In the worst case scenario you lose ~10 minutes. Not being able to portal in the lab was one of the most important design decisions when they first created the labyrinth and I'm glad they didn't change their mind. Being able to portal during Izaro fights/trap segments to refill flasks would be retarded. Ascendancies are one of the most powerful things in this game, so forcing people on SC to play as if it were HC for 10-15minutes is something I feel is justified.

Ooohhh we are getting Gothic's scavengers as enemies. Nice!!!

I stopped playing HC not because my shitty net (i live in a cave...) but fucking random FPS drops/hiccups. Yesterday I get killed thanks to 3 Perandus chests inside lab.reward room. I was only able to take 2-3 steps then game literally stoped for 10 sec.
Though it was amusing too see that my golems killed all the guards, crazy little things.

Saark you havent cover my scenario: dying due to watching netflix and reading codex while playing poe.

Buy a second monitor. Problem solved.

huh? Already have? Im not some sort of alt tabbing madman.

Shit, sorry. I thought that the game was easy enough to watch Netflix. After all, the devs promised that!

Maybe try doing only one other thing while playing PoE? Like, drop Netflix and concentrate on reading Codex? I'm sure, you'll be able to manage the challenge of the HC leagues then/

But it takes more then 10-20 minutes for anyone but experienced lab farmers. And we are talking about 3.0 changes where they want players to explore more and do side content so lab runs will take even more time.

Lab in 3.0 will be shorter iirc, and even if they want us to explore more doesn't mean we have to.
