Guild stash is available in every league (ofc they aren't shared between leagues). Those wanting to join can add Hoaxmetal in steam too.I hope that stash is in HC. Is it?
Nevermind, we should play in the beyond league anyway.
Amen to that. Was so bored I started leveling a new char in HC league. First 30 minutes of play was cleaning up 20 stash tabs worth of items. Put uniques in the guild stash, mostly stuff useful during levelling. Can't decide what to play. I love summoners but my recent Frozen Pulse Shadow was more than capable of dealing damage. Now, with FP buffs it might be even better.Beyond is HC and sounds pretty fun.
It feels good to start naked and level with self-found shit and without the gems or op uniques from your stash.

Ice Spear might finally be not totally shit. Woo!
As a long time HC melee player I'd advise against playing melee, especially as a first char. You can paint it in any color you want, but at the end of the day it fucking sucks. Sure, you'll have tons of fun while leveling, but once you meet two flickerstrike ethereal knives spider bosses, you will regret your decision instantly. You need to update your weapons, you need to have good res/life/def gear, you need shitton of support gems and a 4 link chest simply isn't optimal in the longrun. You will die before ever reaching merciless Dominus.
otherwise although I have no experience with using the skill Righteous Fire might suit your interests, as it is probably among those spells which are the most complementary to the Templar's elemental specialisations.
most of my recent characters are Templars, and yet as much as I've tried to play a spellcaster the usually become more of a melee orientated design with some spellcasting. In terms of being able to withstand attacks and use spells I think Flameblast would be a sound choice, but apparently the damage is being changed in the coming expansion (there might actually be patch notes today, I'm yet to check myself).
You stack all the fire res and life regen you can get to the point that you don't degen anymore.otherwise although I have no experience with using the skill Righteous Fire might suit your interests, as it is probably among those spells which are the most complementary to the Templar's elemental specialisations.
How would that work. Isn't that skill a little bit suicide? That intrigues because it would indeed fit well, but the life taken from you is ridiculous.

There are also auras, and a pair of boots that gives life regen per frenzy charge. You stack all the fire res and life regen you can get to the point that you don't degen anymore.otherwise although I have no experience with using the skill Righteous Fire might suit your interests, as it is probably among those spells which are the most complementary to the Templar's elemental specialisations.

As far as I can mathematically think, using the passive alone that seems pretty impossible to do no?
You still have the link to your build and gear? Would help me greatly.
Was also thinking about making a glacial hammer Templar, with the new support of ice they introduced. Is that viable?
I obtained my first master at lvl 10, their quests are scalable. Not easy though, almost died during this templaresque quest where you have to defend a relic.
just as Made has said, to use Righteous Fire a focused investment in resistance and bonus resistance skill or items is required. I've never used the skill extensively mostly because it is spell-focused and would also require a dedicated build to use properly. As to Flameblast the spell can and often will be cast just in front of your position where the hoardes will begin to surround you, so it is somewhat akin to a caster-centred area of effect ability. Also there will be times where the adjustable location of the spell makes it more prudent to use then trying to bypass other creatures to reach a Lich, archer or what be. With the new portal feature a little versatility can be desirable at times, I've already come all too close to being caught and this is with a moderetly defensive focused character so far. I'm not sure how other less defence orientated classes would fare in similar early encounters.
the new portal spawning in the Beyond league is going to present some very difficult challenges, having higher levelled creatures materialise around my melee-ish Templar (I typically begin with Flameblast or Stormcall until items and skills are in place for melee) has led to a few close instances of concentrated 'spike' damage suddenly putting my character at about 40% health. And probably at least one of those situations has been decided by my early choice of Molten Shell over Flameblast.
