As several people already said, there is no standard difficulty with core ruleset in Kingmaker, on "normal" damage received by your party is multiplied by x0.8 - but on the other hand on "challenging" monsters have slightly increased stats (or a modifier to rolls - one of the two). You can only get core rules if you make a custom difficulty.

Furthermore, shouldn't Spell DC be calculated as 10 + Spell level + Attribue bonus + other bonuses? Why does my +5 CHA Sorc with Greater Spell Spec in Enchantment have a DC of 14 on Daze when it should be 17 (10 + 0 + 5 + 2)?

That is correct. This sounds like a bug. I've also noticed that the combat log said certain enemies are immune to my sleep, like the assassins in the beginning. They may have just been elves though.

Treantbear down to magic missile, acid and sonic damage spam. Still don't know what is its /resist. It resisted slashing and crushing, makes little sense for it be vulnerable to piercing too. Maybe flat /10 or smh.

Even the plebs on Steam are noticing that the balance is off. I saw a screenshot of some enemy with 41 AC at level 2. Methinks the devs done goof'd something. Higher levels and better equipment won't help either because AC and BaB seem to scale into infinity on enemies.

There was a warerat in cave that have insane AC,they were three but only one had it. Crits were hitting him for 1-2. And i had +1 weapons on all of my party.

I'm wondering if it's a bug just with the logs or with the actual mechanics. I did notice that assassins resisted a ridiculously high amount of Sleep/Daze spells for level 1 mooks with -1 Will coming from my Sorc who was specifically made to land as many of those as possible. Worked so much better in ToEE.

Wererats are high level encounter avoided by ppl since beta test. Leave them until you have silver weapons probably.

Difficulty problems: a message from our Creative Director

We hear your comments on the game difficulty and difficulty spikes, and we will take specific steps in addressing those spikes. First of all, the encounter with the wolves is too hard right now even for normal difficulty, so we will be reducing the number of the wolves in the encounter, as it is a part of the tutorial and should not be as harsh. Speaking of random encounters - we will double check our random encounter generation rules once again to be sure that the encounters that are too powerful for your party didn't happen.

We hear a lot of comments about the spider cave Bokken is sending you to. Swarms are difficult, as swarms of tiny creatures are immune to weapon damage in Pathfinder and require special handling with fire, alchemical fire or AoE spells. From hotfix 1.0.2 Bokken will be warning you of those dangers and provide the party with means to handle them at least partially (several alchemical fire flasks). There will also be separate tutorial messages about difficult to notice mechanics on enemies (like damage immunity or damage reduction, regeneration and similar). For story mode and easy difficulties, those qualities of creatures will be turned off (story mode) or reduced (easy).

The first chapter of the game allows you to choose between different objectives, you can start pursuing your rival, or you can start dealing with the bandits. Because of that, you can reach certain boss enemies having different levels and overall power. We will be reviewing encounters in the Temple of the Elk and the Ancient Tomb to be sure their difficulty is suitable for a 2nd level party.

And one last note about the difficulty - there are plenty of difficulty options to choose from, and we really hope that each player can find the difficulty of the game that will be interesting to them. Unfair and Hard difficulties were meant as really difficult challenges, where creatures are much more powerful than player's party (and we will be adding an additional warning for the new players, who want to start the game on those difficulty settings). I know that there are some players who consider modes like this the only viable modes of play, and while respecting that I want to say that we were designing them to be very difficult and require a lot of patience, careful party building and getting accustomed to party abilities and adapting your strategies to that. A lot of encounters there are killing my party when I am playing the game and require at least several tries to change the tactical approach to the encounter. Please keep that in mind.

So is this worth a buy or not?

Haven't played nearly enough to give a definitive statement, but if you're not thirsty as fuck for a proper RPG, might wanna park it until it gets patched a little. The framework is rock-solid, but they need to tweak the numbers (or patch up the bugs if those numbers are, indeed, bugs and not features).

some good builds for various classes in this game.
If it is so, roll a Lawful neutral Azuth/Mystra Cleric with Time/Earth domains, persistent-haste /divine favour / full plate and other bling (possible to even get divine power perma-ed in the PnP as far as I remember, although you'd be a melee/implosion death machine anyways at high levels). Or druid/cleric combo if it's closer to PnP

https://steamcommunity.com/id/toyorc/recommended/640820/

this review tells you all you need to know about the forces of decline

Cool story bro:

Pathfinder: "Divinity Sin 2 ruined the market"

Divinity 2: "M A S T E R P I E C E!
Nirvana of Rpg's.
Great job guys I watched the video on gamespot about how you were about to quit. I am glad you were able to finish this gem.
I waiting for original sin 3. I am willing to pay now :)"

That guy sure knows what incline is.

Hope that they delay any patching for difficulty as long as possible, even if it harms rating. I want to see more "I always play everything on hardest" people get woke.

Btw all negative reviews basically say game is too difficult.

People expected their PoE/DA:O, and got BG/ToEE with an in-built tactics mod instead.

what difficulty is the guy playing on?

+2 from difficulty should mean Challenging. I am playing that as well and you can see some of the monster stats I posted earlier.
