In any case, Owlcat is leading the way to Great New Games by re-humanizing the post-Gamergate player base. Challenging play + providing the resources necessary to meet the challenge.

The first step in a proper re-humanization is a non-retarded anthropology. At the heart of that anthropology is re-cognizing that every living organism* is inherently motivated (hence the in- in incel) to learn how to better tap that ass.

The problem is connecting what you're teaching to that pre-existing motivation. In a civilized setting that work's already been done for you, all you need to do is connect to it, which is trivial unless you trip on your own dick Soyer-style.

Where civilization is breaking down and you have the war of all against all you either leverage the war (how what you're teaching helps you pwn the other guy) or better subverts the war like the Christmas armistice since people sense the nefarious forces driving the war.

* - trans is the exception since they seek to transcend organic life itself while marketing themselves as transsexual or transhuman to appeal to the war weary

Some of this conversation is moot because those supposedly unmotivated to improve themselves wouldn't be interested in a game built around level-ups in the first place.

Main blockage to learning/improvement in classroom/game is fear of humiliation/losing face. Trad way to deal with this is to set up humiliating situation that turns out to be surmountable/ not so bad after all. Student/player gets pleasurable confidence boost based in real improvement.

This is known as hazing. Classic games had tough early challenges for same effect.

Passive voice user impotently bitching about the world. Dog bites man.
It's called a joke, Desi.

Some of this conversation is indeed moot, but I was more interested in the wider applications of motivating the unmotivated. It's not like this is a gaming-specific issue.

Joke makes it worse, not better. Amused mastery, not futility.

It is more than a gaming-specific issue, not less. Gaming is learning.

i just started playing the original. and the only bad thing so far (except the fact that you dont get a trickery and mage character in the beginning if you choose evil alignment) is the slow as molasses movement speed. Is this something that's still around? I can actually see myself skipping part 2 if this is so, unironically

If you click further away from the group, they start running. If running is too slow for you, maybe use cheat engine to speed it up?

Is there really any harm with cracking the occasional joke about the state of the world?

And yes, it's more than a gaming-specific issue, that's pretty much what I've been saying too.

I fail to understand while it is necessary to teach someone unmotivated when there are 7.8 billion people on Earth in general, and most of half a billion people south of the Rio Grande dream day and night of becoming American citizens. I think - whatever the media try to persuade - that the current times are the times of selection, not improvement.

You weren’t joking.

Also, there are none unmotivated, only dehumanized.

Also, yeah, impotence is unmanly thus harmful. Especially when false.

Here’s who is harmed:

Turns out you can get both Lann and Wend, so don’t give her the worst possible level to gimp her like I did.

I am thinking of Fighter -> some kind of Slayer for Wenduag. I do not know which kind of Slayer, though.

As for young people and COVID-19 - easy: a) enlist into whatever army you're eligible for; b) become a (riot) policeman; c) convert to islam and go to the Middle East, they will find the task for you.

Hazing is meant to make you value group membership.

Pathfinder's overtuned early mobs are meant to mask a lack of AI and bad encounter design. Once you master melee hordes the game has nothing more to throw at you, this happens in Act 2. Changing the difficulty slider only affects frequency of resting and necessary buff spam.

In any case there was a game that came out a few years back that birthed a new genre around facing harsh challenges in order to make the player value progress and it sure as shit wasn't Pathfinder. Even on Unfair you can still quicksave as much as you want.

Grampy_Bone I would like to politely remind you that this subforum is called "Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous - now in BETA STAGE 2 - coming September 2nd". Are you sure that you're writing about WotR?

And, if so, could you please help me with Wenduag build?

Nevermind, go back to licking each other's balls and calling it champagne.

Nope. Pathfinder is 9/10 and would be 10/10 if had a decent AI. Everyone here believes that OwlCat should take lessons on how to make an AI from Pierre(kotc). However, only because a game has a flaw, doesn't means that the game is not good. Both OwlCat games has one of the best stories, the best character creation, and a lot of C&C + replay value.

Well, I don't know about you, but I have just started my new run on Hard with the latest patch. The "Additional Enemy Behaviors" are on as this is the part of Hard difficulty settings.

In the fight right after acquiring the angel's sword spiders rushed my back line, and if not for Anevia someone would have died. I think it is pretty nice for the A.I. to exploit my poor formation. I have never seen this in Kingmaker.

So... be careful what you wish for. And, as always, if something is not working - wipe out the game and old saves, download the latest version, restart with clear new save. It is the beta. Treat it like one.
