It is not at will, it used to take a level 9 slot unless it was changed,

Incorrect, it is at-will and does not use up a slot. Tested 30 seconds ago.

At it’s best in an Azata run I’d think. With a Dirge Bard (Bloodline might also work) splash can affect Undead with it.

Azata (and Aeon) also get the opportunity to ice Mephistopheles and take his Robe. It provides an aura that applies a -4 penalty to Saves on enemies in an AoE when rolling against certain mind-affecting stuff. That's a pretty unfair advantage an Enchantment/Illusion-focused Azata caster has over other such casters on different Mythic Paths.

Wait only those paths get to take the robe?

It must have been changed.
Anyway the lawful spell is better. (it wasn't at will either but now who knows).
What does the lawlful one do?

If you pick the lawful ending for her, "Storm of Burning Righteousness (When this spell is cast, the whole area is shot through with sheets of roaring holy flame. All enemy creatures within the area take 10d6 points of fire and 10d6 of holy damage. Creatures that fail their Reflex save catch on fire, taking 2d6 points of fire and 2d6 of holy damage each round after that until the flames are extinguished by making a successful Reflex save.)"

I'll take an at-will spell over a weak nuke any day, esp since my Ember is an Enchantment specialist
Weak nuke here, weak nuke there and before you know it shit's dead*. That one sounds like no save and no attk required. Does it bypass SR as well? Good supplement to Hellfire in any case since it doesn't require an attack and is AoE Enemies only.

Ember eventually gets some Enchantments but makes a better Conjuror** early (and late with Summons) and has more Necro or Evo (thx to her archetype/items) spells than Enchantment. Enchantment can be ok (especially with Azata) if she rides the bench until later, but this playthrough has me convinced that Nenio isn't ready for prime time until Phantasmal Web/Putrefaction comes online so I'll want Ember to replace Wolj instead (to get Hex/Cackle/Demoralize). With Azata she could just buff/Hex/Confuse early but I like Wolj in that slot.

* - this is what Magic Damage Party does in Wiz8

** - lets her skip SR Feats, Hexes already bypass SR

No SR IIRC, and btw by chapter V SR shouldn't be a problem anymore, and has a huge radio, at least as big as fire storm.
The reflex DC is based on evocation as its a evocation spell and ofc the casting stat.

Well, only those paths fight Mephistopheles in the first place unless there's an option to backstab him on the Devil path.

There's still some bosses with massive SR but I guess you'd have Hexes for those anyway. Only so many Spell Pen items to go around and there are some adds that have enough to be annoying vs AoEs without them.

Also depends on what save your other casters are strong against and what foes are weak to.

Nice way to thin out some Succubi at back of Lost Chapel Map. Can get here with Athletics check (Mounts are good for this). If I had to play Ironman Unfair I'd probably Door the party up here vs Stringy Demodand.

Seelah Tank vs Stringy Demodand.jpg

Missing Veil of Heaven for some reason but still not quite there, and would be especially tough on Unfair. See Maugla fight below for Illusion Magic and add in Protective Luck and Stoneskin along with Evil Eye atk debuff w/Cackle? Seems more like one fight tank Seelah isn't going to be able to just own without too much help or Crane Wing shenanigans. There aren't many.

Buggy Mod.jpg

Unfortuntely looking like Dark Codex Mod is bugging out so will have to unload and go back to drawing board.

Maugla sheet.jpg

Maugla was much more satisfying fight. If you're in melee it will try to fight instead of casting. Didn't start great with all that whiffing. Seelah was establishing Fighting Defensively but Wend should have Delayed.

Seelah Illusion vs Maugla.jpg

Seelah with UMD can use Mirror Image Wand (and scrolls like Echolocation and Expeditious Retreat from Nenio) then Nenio adds Displacement. Still Hard Maugla has 38 AB even Shaken so don't have all day.

Scion 8 Intimidate vs Hard Maugla.jpg

MC Scion is reliable Intimidator which unlocks Shatter Defenses.

Scion 8 hitting flat footed Hard Maugla.jpg

Mythic Shatter is Flat-footed for team (unfortunately will lose that with unloading buggy Dark Codex):

Tank Seelah crit vs Hard Maugla.jpg

Seelah triggers Outflank crit chain even with the defensive maluses. Crit on 19 is from Divine Weapon Bond Keen.

Finding Ashbery Hamlet.jpg

High Perception lets you find Ashberry Hamlet. If you miss at lvl 7 can come back at 8 for another try.

Lucky Rolls vs Sark Ghost.jpg

This ended up being a really good (and close) fight. Drew out the Rift and Stormbolts but it caught my Devas, and he still had Blasphemy and Plague Storm casts. SR Aura from Devas is a nice one. RNG taketh away, and giveth. This fight makes me want Mythic Channeling on Daeran. Will try to make Ghost come to me with Summons to draw out more spells next time. I've zerged him before but that doesn't seem practical in TB.

Enough EXP to hit lvl 9, turning on Polymorph on Nenio where I discovered that Leopard MC could have had 6 more AB and an extra attack this whole time in Leopard Form using Beast Shape II scrolls. Not whole time since had to wait to get Fists Amulets from Nulk and Garg Chieftain.

We'll see how that works in Drezen next. Will need some retrains without Dark Codex.

I recently added it... Does "Not a chance" mythic ability cause the problem here? Pretty OP ability anyway.

That's my guess, but also got immortal Daeran on Nulk fight (though attacks weren't missing him) so who knows? If it were working properly it would be fine (the inverse of Always a Chance) since the hard part is getting to where a 20 would be a miss in the first place. Crit immunity is great of course but crits in that case are 1/400 anyway outside of autoconfirms.

But mobs are randomly going flat-footed too, or showing flat when they're not, so going to try without it and see how it goes. Mut Warrior is probably better for what I'm doing on MC (Standard Dazzling isn't working) as well, since Mut Natural Armor duplicates Draconic Defenses and I pick the Bite from Feral. There's a lot of potential for a Scion/Thug or Scion/Dirge build (or all three) once Standard Dazzling starts working tho. That opens up Riving Strike with the Arcane Strike and Fear on the Dazzling (and Intimidate turns on vs Undead with Dirge Bard). Draconic Defenses would be much needed there as well.

UPDATE: Dark Codex just added patch to remove always missing bug so will stick with it for now. Keeping an eye on how Shatter is working

Decided to retrain into an Instinctual Warrior to go with Demon into Gold Dragon Polymorph build:

Instinctual Warrior.jpg

Dorf for Steel Soul and because class comes with Speed bonus to cancel Dorf malus. You can trade in Hatred and Defensive Training for a Background that gives bonus AB/AC vs Undead and +2 Religion Lore which was something I was needing since my Divine Caster is CHR-based.

Free Blind Fights are cool (and eventually Blindsight) and I like the WIS to AC plus scaling AC to beef up AC while Wild Shaped. Can get Pounce for Dragon Form via Animal Totems (along with some more AC) and Inspire Ferocity for team. Improved Uncanny is great and so is WIS to Initiative (IW Rage boosts WIS).

Didn't want to go Mut Warrior because Dueling Gloves aren't working with Natural Weapons Training. Both Mut and Scion duplicate some of the things you already get from Demon/Dragon forms so this feels like more synergy.

Inspire Ferocity on tank Seelah.jpg

Inspire Ferocity from Instinctual Warrior MC lets tank Seelah trade in some of her AC for AB on regular fights while turning off Accept Rage on the hardest targets.

24 DC Archon's for Daeran 9.jpgEvo Focus Mythic for Daeran.jpg

24 DC for a passive AoE AB/AC/Saves debuff is pretty solid. Two Feats and a Mythic are a high price but you want it to trigger regularly to make everything else go smoother. Also helps Sound Burst and Arrow of Law not be wasted turns. No room for ranged feats but can usually work in Arrow on a straggler for damage + Daze on a Demon or Burst to Stun casters. Mostly just using Prayer and fighting reasonably well with the Mount.

Nenio Phant Web vs Shadow Votary.jpg

Nenio can get her DCs much higher but doesn't get many casts until later. Save for emergencies.

Nauseated Shadow Votary.jpg

The Nauseate doesn't kick in until the second round but that's enough on Shadow Votary to prevent the Putrefaction that can really get you. Entangle is a nice effect (few things are immune) and with DC this high the persistent Nauseate gives you breathing room to finish off fights without burning too many resources.

Dorf Steel Soul not enough on IW 9.jpg

Steel Soul from Dorf is +4 to all saves vs spells so gives you a chance to escape from about anything, especially with all the extra WIS helping Will saves. Didn't make it here but don't have to worry about getting locked out for several rounds.

Cam 9 Frost Spirit Icy prison on Votary.jpg

This is level 9 Cam from Second Spirit Frost. I'm setting her up on Meta Snowballs for Devarra but could certainly go Mythic focus instead and do some work with the Prison. Only one cast per rest but a great spell. Crusaders can actually hit helpless foes.

Athletics check to roof of Barracks.jpg

From where that Shadow Votary is hiding (just West of the entrance) you can get up on the roof of the Barracks with a couple Athletics checks.

Wend 9 from Barracks roof.jpg

Kill the Vrocks up there and you can shoot the dangerous Nabasu below without it being able to reach you.

Seelah 8 with Bow from Barracks roof.jpg

Even Seelah can get into the act if you hung on to some extra bows.

Nenio 9 Rainbow Pattern.jpg

After you clear out the Barracks you can go NW to climb up on the Walls to take out the Ash Giants. Traffic pretty clogged there so Nenio plays DOS-style Mez tag to prevent the Ash Giant from getting its next turn. Pattern/Phant Web/Putrefaction are all enemies-only AoE control spells that she can get up to pretty high DCs. Bread and Butter of her build.

Seelah 9 tanking Ash Giant.jpg

After you take out that Giant you can raise the Gate in the following room then kill the other Giant on the other side. Here Seelah tanks him handily. Killing him achieves one of the main objectives, stops the rain of Bludgeoning damage, and moves the Vendor camp to the base of the wall on the second level where you first went up. That makes a good home base for rest of Siege.

Daeran 9 Arrow of Law.jpg

You can also kill a bunch of stuff (that pack of Brimoraks) from the top of the wall. Here Cam is using the level 8 ability from Frost Spirit (Frigid Blast) which a 3 times per day Cold AoE with good range. Daeran doesn't need Precise Shot to hit things with Arrow of Law.

Shooting Votary from Wall.jpg

The Votary and Babaus on the other side are reachable as well.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
life bonding friendship azata superpower is insane. i am on the last dungeon of chapter 4, i picked this ability before. fought the umbral dragon optional boss and while technically my party got wiped out in a few round with his breath attack, because of the ability, they just keep fighting with 1 HP until the dragon is dead. breath of life + hoarded raise dead scroll take care of the rest,
