Kingmaker proved that the developers know what they are doing. As long as they just focus on polishing animations, add even more content, and make the game new player friendly; they should be good.

Golarion is the worst possible version of forgotten realms but its ok if you ignore that other parts of it exist. For an example: kingmaker is a fun fantasy romp about creating your own kingdom. To its northwest there's a literal sci fi nation with a crashed spaceship and laser guns. We don't talk about that.

What is the best version of forgotten realms?

I am 99% sure only main character will be able to be a Mythic hero and story will then revolve around that one.

I'm reading it right now and I agree with that review from reddit - the NPCs are just written as trans/gay/whatever, but none of this shit matters or plays any role in interactions with them. Done literally for the checkmark - we have degeneracy. The module itself is alright, railroady, sure, but what do you expect from medieval Fallout with demons.

Yeah, only the PC will receive the power from the wardstone, it's like that in the AP - all the others are just there to watch you throw epic spells and break demigods in half.

Mythic ranks are a separate advancement from normal levels. You can have a Wizard 1 with 5 mythic ranks, a wizard 20 with 0 or 1 mythic rank or anything in between. The system is a mess and should only be used to create boss monsters by taking advantage of how mythic creatures resist save or die spells and can act multiple times (so a party of 4 doesn't just smash them by acting four times as often).
