Don't let this be the last update! No! This is my most anticipated game of the decade!

Certain classes are weaker than others though

Yes and no. Obv Sword Saint is overloaded, base Alchemist is strictly worse than Grenadier if you know how to cast Delay Poison, and Eldritch Archer was unfortunately completely mailed in.

Other than that Owlcat did an extraordinary job giving almost every class a way to excel if you work at it.

NJClaw's (and InEffect's) tier system is about how good a class is solo, but that's just a different game. P:K is at it's heart about group synergies.

I will never understand why Eldritch Archer is its own subclass, instead of being part of the base class.

more experienced players often prefer to play lower tier characters as they enjoy the challenge of trying to optimise them.

That is fun, but not exactly the point. I test out purportedly lower tier classes to try to grok how the designer intended them to be played and have uncovered some hidden gems (Like Feyspeaker Val w/ Smilodon pet Touch Attack Image tank).

The way you talk about the tier system makes me think you have never seen a single PnP Pathfinder session.
The tier system I posted has nothing to do with Kingmaker, it's about PnP classes' versatility. And it's not "mine", I wish I was JaronK, I would get laid so much more.

That tier system doesn't say that a certain class is "stronger" than another in combat, that's not the point. It doesn't care about which class gives which bonus.

And, while I obviously respect and love Owlcat for the amazing game they gave us, they had nothing to do with the Pathfinder-related content that's in the game. Every class has ways to excel because Paizo designed them, not Owlcat.

It was flattering to assume that some of us even play pnp. I myself never played a pnp session.

Pretty evident from your posts on this subject.
Yeah. But I never said I was speaking on pnp. My point of view was always from the video game.
Okay, but you intervened with:
Eh, class tiers are quite stupid.
while we were talking about PnP class tiers, what's the point?

It's like stopping two people that are talking about chess rules with a "Eh, football rules are quite stupid".

Because this is a thread about Wrath, an upcoming video game? Asking me why I am commenting on this thread, is like asking me why I post in /pfg/. Because I like talking about Pathfinder. Although, I do agree. I shouldn't have said anything on this particular subject. In my defense though, I did mistakenly think we were talking about Kingmaker.

Update on COVID-19

Dear Pathfinders,

Just like everyone else these days, we are deeply concerned about the COVID-19 virus outbreak, and we’re keeping a wary eye on the situation and following the recommendations from the World Health Organization.

To protect the health and safety of our employees, starting this week we’ve decided to switch to fully remote working so that we don’t put each other at extra risk.

Here at Owlcat Games, our work has always been organized for maximum flexibility, to give each member of the team the ability to switch between office-based and remote working from time to time, while still maintaining all channels of communication. So this step should not significantly affect our progress—from a technical point of view, the studio is ready for this.

Our goal is to continue working on Wrath of the Righteous, making the best possible CRPG, to justify the trust of our backers, and to keep updating you on the development process.

Take care of yourselves, and stay safe.

Indeed I haven't.

Everything I write is about P:K, not PnP.

Monks are immune to disease men. And barbarians get damage reduction.
Ahhh the problem is that in real life you two are neither of those things. It is not good to confuse games with real life mate.
Lighten up Bulgar, there's still more rakija in the world to consume.
Hahahaha i am lighten up mate :),i just filled my glass with it. I was just joking lol .
