lol.

Edited: This was posted in the Star Citizen thread cuz: "With support for a reported 8,000 players using multiple servers, the game world is over 150 square miles in area and now available in early acccess", basically, server meshing in UE while SC still struggling with that damn shit after over a decade of development.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.
Went to check it out and then a funny thing happened

But apparently not many folks are pleased with it

I was in the pre-release, and it was so boring that I had enough after 15 minutes. There's nothing you can't do in free-to-play survival RPGs like Ark, The Forest, or 7 Days to Die, except those games are considerably better.

I really don't see any reason I would play this beyond "It's another MMO to grind your life away at"

I mean, ffXIV n WoW are still the most played mmorpgs, if that doesn't say enough about the current state of the genre I don't know what to tell you :D

Read about networking tech they are doing.
It is effectively Star Citizen's Static Server Meshing.

It means that players can for example shoot with arrow someone from other server.
The "Layering" is instancing though. So I think it works kind of like server share other server info but server you are on is connected to other server allowing you to shoot other players but that other server might be at random or something. I guess with parties/guilds etc. it will always show you instance with your friend but i don't see it scaling high as gameplay problems will arrive soon.

Very impressive. 8k+ players is top of the top when it comes to mmos and here it is done with fpp/tpp that seem to use precise movements and actions which is much more impressive than wow etc.
