Some of the adventure titles look pretty promising, though. I've this abiding affection for the genre; you can always rely on it to have several nice titles coming out every year, at least good for unusual atmosphere/story/pretty visuals if not innovation.

Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty
Do I really need to explain why

Yes you DO need to explain. Explain why Gamespot tards anticipate this game but refuse to touch other strategy titles.

EA's done milking Sims 2 for expansion packs, I guess? Maybe Sims 3 will incorporate Spore elements.

Wow, the guy knows his stuff, and many of the games from next year seem interesting.

That game Precursor sounds kind of cool... is it supposed to have a randomly genned universe?

Demigod is the only game on that list that isn't actively trying to make me vomit.

edit: And Age of Decadence, and BG&E2, and Necrovision, and Mafia 2, and heaps of other shit... gotta learn to scroll down.

Oh please. Even if you call DA generic, you know it will be better than BG 2, mainly because it won't consist of 99% combat and will have actual dialogs.

DA is my most wanted game of the year(unless there will be another expansion for NWN 2).

Goblins 4? It's like...
Wow
Heh, my reaction too.

Of the list though, I'm most eager to get my hands on Infinity and Northstar. But 2009 sounds a bit optimistic for Infinity. More like 2015 or something. Calling the dev ambitious would be a rather massive understatement.

Jagged Alliance 3
Hearts of Iron III
Eschalon: Book2
Age of Decadence
The Broken Hourglass

Also might get a 3-shitty for sports games, Mafia 2, and Divinity 2.

What's with all the adventure games in 3d with female protagonists?
Longest Journey clones?

Also, Duke Nukem Forever for 2009

Because male protagonists are supposed to shoot/stab/slash/bludgeon things. Not solve puzzles.

Anyway, I know Culpa Innata isn't a Longest Journey clone in any sense, and I'm pretty sure think Still Life isn't from what little I've seen of it. Are all adventure games with male protagonists clones of King's Quest?
