My level 10 fire god-like monk can single-handedly solo Medreth's group...without attacking them once (apart from the initial attack to turn them hostile).

:yeah:

Unless Obsidian nerfed them recently, Chanters also had decent summoning spells.

I also like how Obsidian gave Ciphers unique dialogue options and potentially unique quest resolutions (at least for 1 quest in the BB). Combat-wise, I did not test Cipher's out much.

Sorry but...there must be at least one reason to costitution\recomend for chanters...which other stats constitution gives a part from health\endurance?

Con as a recommended stat for the chanter would make more sense if it was integer based (+X per level). Its not really useful for low hp characters thanks to being % based. Like interrupt, it makes more sense as an integer bonus. Pretty much the only classes that I take above 10 with con are my absolute front liners that have decent base hp.

This isnt to say that I dislike percentage based stats. I can see why damage, especially, is % based.

I will probably be making myself a stat rebalance mod for subsequent playthroughs (I did the same with the IE games). Con and Resolve are the two stats that need the most love.

Con is probably recommended for Chanters as you want them to survive as long as possible. The way there chants and invocations work it can often be 15-20seconds before they can use there first ability (aside from the chants). This is unlike pretty much every other class which can fire off there special abilities as soon as combat starts.

If you make a Chanter with dumped Con and allow them into melee combat and if your not careful there is a good chance they'll be KO'd before they've managed to summon/cast something interesting.

You certainly can play them with low or normal con you'll just need to invest a bit more effort in keeping them out of harms way.

I play on hard, leave their con at 10 and take them into melee without too much trouble (I do use a reach weapon with them). Oddly, they dont have enough base hp to justify a higher investment in con and I doubt higher con would significantly impact survivability thanks to the percentile bonus.

Currently my least favourite classes are Ranger, Paladin, Barbarian and Wizard.

Barbarians make terrible tanks, but I like their Carnage ability quite a bit (it doesn't seem to be scaled down in damage too much). I use them with polearms and they seem pretty good, although it might just be better to have another rogue.

Planned from the beginning to use a monk as main character but the wound system doesn't sit quite right for me in the role I imagined.

Might make the tank with max deflection and intel because none of the NPCs will be built that way.

I like the Barbarian Carnage too.

and Mazisky the recommended stats are simply not accurate IMO

Im curious why you dont like Paladins. They seem pretty cool to me. Spot heals, auras, nice def... Good utility class to have up front. Wizard seems much improved too, btw. That fire bowling ball is great and they have nice debuffs too.

I think the devs really want to give the impression that there aren't any dump stats, so they just randomly recommended stats for the classes.

I think some of their abilities need tuning, as well as their aura range. Lay on Hands is also garbage. They're not terrible, just not one of my favourite classes to play.

Rolling Flame is now a lot better, yep. They still have a lot of dud spells, and Druids are (IMO) just simply better.

I have permission to stream the game on Monday - but I can't go past Act 1.

Is there anyone even remotely interested in seeing it, or would it be too close to release and you don't want it spoiled, and/or you've already seen Act 1 a million times? My suspicion is that it's not really a big demand so close to release.

I'd like to see it. Is the version you're playing 488 or the gold version? Maybe for sake of not uber spoilers you use a created party or only use 1 npc. Since you're not part of the design team Anthony, how much of the game do you actually have a clue about, or are ya pretty much learning everything like us?

I wouldn't watch. Too close to getting my hands on it.

Is Obs handing out keys to streaming "personalities" for pre-launch hype, or is it still just in-house?

Take five shots beforehand. Then I will definitely watch.

Upload it to youtube so I can force people on the fence to watch it, and buy the game.
