I love Gothic and Gothic 2 as much as any RPG, but it's been a long time since those games were made, and the stuff PB has been working on more recently makes me fairly skeptical. I'll root for them to succeed of course, since anything like Gothic games today would be quite awesome, but I'd say the odds are that ship has sailed a while back.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.
True. Can perhaps some knowledgeable bro recap in a few sentences what happened to PB in the last five or so years? Heard there was some major restructuring and bleeding of talent between Risen 1 and Risen 2 but I can't find anything reliable anymore.

It's a run-on/bad grammar. The handcrafted part is meant to apply to the world design and not the gameplay.

handcrafted action role-playing
What is this even supposed to mean?
Actually there is no concrete definition for the game sector (At least I don´t find one).

1. It could mean that stuff in the gameworld was placed by "hands" (for example trees or no random loot).
2. Or it could mean that the source code was (mostly) written by humans (for example no autogenerated code).
3. Or that the gameworld is not a sandbox one.

It could mean anything!
I say it is just a marketing word.
Don´t let you fool by it, because of its nice ring!
(Dinga ding ding)

Here a definition...but it doesn´t help much

Examples of HANDCRAFT
  1. <we learned about traditional handcrafts like barrel-making and leather-working at the colonial history museum>

They mean world design because one of the biggest critiques of Risen 2 and 3 was that they used [I can't think of the name of the program] that auto generates landscape for you. I don't remember much about Risen 2 anymore but having played 3 recently I found all the islands generic and uninteresting. Especially the mini-towns.

Well they better step up their Blitzkreig because their neighbors really raised the bar.
If that is a comparison to CDProject, it is not fair. PB is a relatively small team, always has been.
Really, the amount of content they produce with their size on a regular basis is surprising.

That said, yes, they should step up their Blitzkrieg, because whatever comes out should be better than Risen 2/3.
So, I hope they focus on better content more than just more content...

You know what always bothered me immensely?
That you would start with killing dozens of pigs, lizards and wolves and would not be able to go back and skin any of them once your learn it, as corpses disappear incredibly fast.

Nobody expects PB to compete with TW3 in terms of scope. On the contrary, I'm sure most would prefer them to deliver a smaller, more focused world - without all the retardation introduced in Risens.

Yes this new game could be great for the exact opposite reason Witcher 3 is great. Have a smaller world, create some very memorable characters, a better leveling system, and an epic plot that doesn't fall into cheesey pirate themes.
