It's true, though. The aim should be to replicate the original renderer and only use hardware acceleration to boost performance, if possible.

These assholes (the studios specialising in remasters of decades-old games) are soul- and talentless parasites, they don't care about the originals one bit other than the opportunity to make as much money from them with the least effort in as short a time as possible. They're the scum of the industry, even worse than woke AAA devs, because they don't even try to do something original, they leech of the nostalgia of people who don't know how to emulate these titles or run them on modern systems, they bring emulation from a grey area into illegality and they taint the originals and rewrite gaming history, because how would younger people, playing these games for the first time, know how much better the originals were?

Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Codex Year of the Donut Codex+ Now Streaming! Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
The "more brown" version looks much closer to the Saturn version. It isn't exactly the same but i do not think this is meant to be a 100% replication anyway.

He spent too much money putting all that brown so he had to cut pixel budgets. Low-res (supposedly original resolution) rendering mode.

Play on an emulator.
Playstation version is superior btw.
Nah, that'd be the Sega Saturn version I'm afraid. The Playstation version had smaller levels and lighting was much more flat.

How many people actually PLAYED the Saturn version? I see it constantly invoked in discussions of this game but not that many people actually owned Saturn, I don't know anyone who did, and the emulation lagged behind.

So it's neither a remaster of PC version, nor a port of console versions. Just a weird mod/fanfic with elements of both versions crammed together.

Coincidentally I am replaying the game just now (on original hardware) and funny enough I'm stuck at the Sunken Palace of Khnum again. I remember being stuck there in the past, in every single playthrough actually, and I pray to god I may find the way to the Symbol of Power soon. Fuck!

Edit: Jesus, I found it, and of course I drowned, again!
Edit2: Meh, it's a 2 minute level if you know thw way -.-

great level

I think I found a progression breaking bug. It was the level where you first encounter cat women and lasers guarding a key. I fell into a section with two hallways and the only ways out were two locked doors that required keys that I didn't have. I ran around pressing E everywhere to look for secret doors, and I couldn't jump back up.

?
Maybe his editing confused you bc NOTHING from PC version is here nor did he ever claim otherwise. It's a combination of PSX and Saturn versions as advertised.
And tbh I wouldn't be opposed to them mixing in gorier spritework from PC and it certainly wasn't out of place.

Interesting, as an Egyptianfag I might give this a try when I'm in an Egyptian mood. Apart from Stone Prophet there aren't many choices anyway.
