Really? If I remember correctly, there was friendly fire in BG and IWD.In BG and IWD you had to predict casting time of spells so they will be arrive at the right time and also there was no friendly fire like in DAO
Yeah, friendly fire in DA:O is only in any difficulty above normal iirc (or is it there also on normal?).
Characters will pass through each other when they're not in combat which fixes one of the biggest issues. If I recall correctly, they said something about pathing being a piece of cake in Unity. I don't have the source thoughI hope that pathing will suck less than old IE games.
It only sidesteps the problem. So it will still be terrible, but only in combat?Characters will pass through each other when they're not in combat which fixes one of the biggest issues. If I recall correctly, they said something about pathing being a piece of cake in Unity. It's not like they're using any of the IE pathfinding code. "Character bumps into another character and gets confused" is just something they nipped in the bud.It only sidesteps the problem. So it will still be terrible, but only in combat?

what happen when you pause when two characters are on top of each other and there is no room to move them?
BG graphics need to evolve to allow more interactivity
Something like a true 3d, for climbing stuff and under/over layers, even if the perspective remains fixed. And TB of course, JA2 in IE basically (or ToEE with layers and stances).
Ziets said that it will be like BG2.That screenshot certainly looks promising, but I am still worried we might get another IWD/IWD2, instead of another BG/BG2. Time will tell.

He talked about the combat/dialogue ratio, not copying the game.
