Finished this the other day - the combat was too janky for it to be a 10/10 masterpiece like some of the reviewers would have you believe but it was probably a solid 8/10.

Don't think I'll ever play it again though so I traded it towards Diablo IV...

Obviously this modification is wonky. But, watching videos, I have not seen a single piece of dialogue that I prefer in the remake. The writing and delivery is always less fun and more stilted in its desire not to repeat.

It's not just that the game is more serious, but also the delivery of lines. They say the same things differently as if they are aware that in some other reality they have already said it. But the line was said right the first time and there often isn't another way to say it that sounds organic and flows right. Sometimes imitation is best.

Edit: decided to play re2r with mods but fucking capcom updated the engine to give it Ray-tracing which apparently has fucked with preformance aswell as mods so now i gotta de-grade my game. i thought steam updates used to be optional?

finally finished it ( thanks empress ). its fine not as good as the OG imo. some neat additions ( Ashley segment that was original a japanese exclusive segment ) some parts felt dragged out like near the end. i dont care for luis but him being expanded on was fine. knife play is great tho.
its better then RE3R but i prefer RE2R over this. i also dont think the modding scene is going to be that big mainly because its takes a long time before you see ashley and you can't change costumes during gameplay ( wtf? ). miss the over the top chessy dialogue between leon and salazar. and just lack of charm compared to OG.

i probably wont play again. this remake didnt need to happened and i think im officially over remakes lmfao
