Legacy of Kain is one example and it covers both sides of vampires being out in the open: vampires being the humanity's overlords (Soul Reaver 1) and vampires being forced underground after losing a war (Blood Omen 2). However, I think vampires being hidden makes for a more interesting premise. "Our" world (or its equivalent) not being as it seems is great way to inject some mystique. It is also generally better/more diverse for gameplay purposes (unless you go for an empire builder-like game). Normalizing vampires (and/or other monsters) is sort of play on societal issues (Discworld Noir comes to mind) more than anything else. Personally I don't find that particularly engaging.Should Vamps in the next iteration of VTM reveal themselves openly or nah?
Having said all that... It would be kind of pointless to have Vampire the Masquerade without the eponymous Masquerade, wouldn't it?
