No idea. It sounds way too big. The interview probably is either a faulty translation, hype, overenthousiasm or a mix of it. Most likely they simply mean that eastwards the map extends to the steppes. They do however make a point out of it being way bigger than RTW.

Well it would be nice to have full northern Europe for once. If Paradox can do it, so should CA. Fuckers!

hey Trash can you provide the link to the article? I'm always eager to read Rome 2 details. Google translation should be enough.

fuck those losers. We'll have to wait until a kind, generous soul transcript the full content of the article here, on the codex.

If anything I wish they could treat the huns and other nomads differently than settled people. Like they are just an roaming army that mostly is idle and growing slowly.

Being each others' fuckbuddies was less of a purely sexual thing, but more of a team-spirit building thing. Close cameraderie and all that. And in ancient greece, it's not even that special, people being bisexual was quite normal. Also people being into kids, so people who go all "look at how sexually tolerant they were back then, it's a paradise for LGBT community!" are probably hypocrites if they don't support pedophiles, too. :M

No Greek would call himself Gay though and it was expected to marry and sire children; same as with today criminals in prisons more of superior/inferior type of surprise sex relations than modern GLBT. Caesar was accused of being sodomized by King of Bitynia as young boy. Sarmatian ''Amazon'' wariors were quite common maybe even to the point of making a unit out of them (or giving 1/10 of Yazygian/Roxolani warriors tits)

One of the things I always liked about Ancient Rome was that insulting someone was never put in terms of your sexual preference. You could be straight, gay, bi, it didn't matter. But if you were submissive in bed you were going to have a bad time. Because the insults were based around that you are not dominant during an intercourse. So basically you could fuck your slave, but if came out that the slave fucked you - ouch. You could fuck your wife but if it came out that your wife fucked you - ouch.

Sort of like gangsta rap

try Lord of The Ring Total War if you have Alexander. It's pretty fun, and I think they finally implemented the custom settlements.

4th age total war is cool too, but it doesn't have custom settlements.

Just read Dutch language mag Gameplay where they had a CA interview. Apparantly they've extended the map all the way east to Mongolia. Fucking Mongolia.

I for one can barely believe that. Still, the mag puts those words in their mouths and it is a normally quite reliable mag at that. Interesting.

That's quite impressive! Mongolia is like, just above china and beyond india. Does that mean everyone would be included?

That a lot more than what they initially announced. That's really difficult to believe.
The article must have confused Mongolia with something else, like a Scythian realm or something. Especially since Mongolia didn't even existed back then, I think.

They must mean some area close to the Indus, to better present the Parthians. I doubt they'd go all that way up to the north.

Wonder if it will have a mechanic that works into 9/10 roman emperors dying to unrest in the army.

Speaking of Tacticular Cancer... http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/03/19/dying-total-war-fan-immortalised-as-rome-2-unit/

The videogames industry isn’t all sexualisation, lies and Doritogates, you know. Sometimes nice things happen because they are nice things. Case in point, the Creative Assembly giving a fan with not long to live a chance to play pre-alpha Rome 2 code, advise on its development and be recreated as a proud soldier of the Roman empire in-game. Tragically, the chap did not survive his battle with cancer, but this seems a touching memorial.

Eurogamer tells the story of terminally ill 24-year-old-James, who sadly succumbed to his liver cancer late last year. Before that, charity Willow arranged, at his special request, for him to visit the Creative Assembly’s HQ in Sussex to meet the team and see as much as he could of the then-newly announced Total War: Rome 2.

James even provided some handy feedback for the devs. “James was remarkable on the day,” reckoned CA community manager Craig Laycock. “His enthusiasm knew no bounds. He asked passionate questions and offered clear and concise suggestions on features for the game.”

James’ likeness was also captured for a hand-modelled recreation of him playing a Roman soldier in the battle of Carthage. He looks pretty handy with a Gladius to me – hopefully we’ll all get to see him in the finished game.

Already thought of making a post about it but it came out kinda edgy and shit and I don't think that's really appropriate. Plus posting about a cancer victim on tacticular cancer?
