1. We could try (collectively) to come up with a nice in-depth system. That, unfortunately would result in a unified standard we could use. A template of sorts. I have some ideas for that, but i don't run this place

Cool, yet it means nothing if you're choosing between apples and condoms.Actually the bayesian average makes sure this doesn't simply measure the amount of fanpeople a game has. It measures the percentage of people who played the game that think it's good while adjusting for number of voters.
