luj1 Oh noooooooooo

Oh no what? There will be no fake patriotism here. This is a cringe project, I'm not going to defend it.
There are SJWs in every Christian, western, eastern or ex-commie country these days. Every single one. No promised land exxists. Sad but true.

I already wrote my opinion on this game in the thread about Owlcat becoming a publisher so i'll just recap: shit with 95% probability.

Ground Hog Day, … , Ground Hog Day, …

Time loop, … A.K.A. … Reboot, …

Groundhog Day was ripped off a short story called "12:01 PM" by one Richard Lupoff (a chronicler of Lovecraft) and intertwined with romantic populist bullshit as to appeal to a wider audience.

There is a fantastic 1990 film adaptation starring Kurtwood Smith

DE was an okay experimental adventure game with some good jokes, but I'm not looking for more of that experience. Also, this looks like a non-edgy copycat version; part of DE's charm was that you could basically play as an asshole for comical value.

The game absolutely needs to allow you to be an asshole and do some batshit insane things, half the appeal of timeloop games is seeing the protagonist slowly lose it over time. The trailer's too short to really make out anything but outside of the comicbook dialogue boxes I really like the visual style it has. I'll try it once it comes out.

The trailer is terrible. It really fails to capture attention. The only interesting thing about it is when the nuke drops.

The only other "DE like" I've played was Gamedec, and that was absolutely terrible. I'll take a Dungeon Master clone, BG 1&2 clone and even Wizardry clones, but I'm all set with ever playing another DE clone

I had an opportunity to play an early build od this game a few years ago at a gaming convention. I thought back then that it went straight for Disco fans, didn’t even try to pretend it was something else. Also kudos to devs for offering players some extra strong spirits drink too :excellent:

You'd "even" take wizardry clones? Now that's some proper crpg connoisseur dedication!

Gamedec was absolute shit but I wouldn't compare it to DE at all. Its more a failed ripoff of the Sherlock Holmes games with (also failed) pseudo RPG-elements.

Didn’t realize that it was in development for such a long time.

Just watched the trailer. Is this known as the "I drink Starbucks for breakfast, lunch and supper" art style?

Luj just needs to bomb every Starbucks in Belgrade to halt the progress of the project.

What thew f is a "Disco-like"? "A game with good writing"?
I think that's maybe setting the bar a bit too high for the people who named their game and setting "rue valley".

Welcome to lovely Rue Valley in Regret County, where self-examination comes with a side of too-much-text-and-angst and zero subtlety. Be literally stuck in the past with our patented time loops.

Was it really the best VN released that year?
