What thew f is a "Disco-like"? "A game with good writing"?
An isometric rpg with no combat and heavy emphasis on the game's story and dialogue with a left/right sidebox for the text would be my guess. Throw in an unconventional artstyle if you're feeling bold.

PC RPG Website of the Year, 2015 Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Divinity: Original Sin 2 A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath
I've played and finished it, but I don't see anything it does that's unique about it. What's rare about it is the solid direction, thanks to having a small, tight-knit team, where the members communicate well and thus the isometric perspective, the writing, the plot, the art style and the music, taken as design choices, all reinforce each other. So it's a well executed project (even if cut down to about 1/4 of the original intention), if that's what we will call a "Disco-like" then ok.

If Disco Elysium is so bad, why do you guys always vote it into the best rpgs list? Why is it on the 19th position?? Can someone explain please

The supposed all-time best CRPG lists are always created with a system of voting rather than rating, which has a number of pernicious effects, one of which is that a contingent of CYOA fans can cast enough Disco Elysium votes for it to reach a fairly high rank, without the rest of us having any effect on it.

Because it is actually a masterpiece, long drowned in memes about it. I think most Codexers didn't played the game and basing their judgment on memes and hearsays.
Don't test me, storybitch

So, unless the system changes, it will always be up there

I wouldn't go as far as to say "most". Some. Disco Elysium got quite high on a very curated list done by Butter that involved Codexers and got 1st spot for year 2019 (granted, in an overall vote). This can't just be coincidence. Even Zed Duke of Banville admits as much: that there are enough people here for Disco Elysium to be rated pretty well overall.

According to the poll, a large majority of voters played Disco Elysium, by the far the most of any RPG game software on the list, though that still leaves open the question of how much the voters in this poll were reflective of actual Codexers.

The usual voting system employed in the Best ## CRPGs of All Time competitions, in contrast to the rating systems used in Game of the Year polls, permits a small portion of voters to propel a game high into the rankings.

Well, when I said "most" I think I had in my mind "most current Codexers".

Because I hardly recognize anyone who was here 5 years ago.

Hope that clears it up.

It was a public poll (not limited to RPGCodex)
The 2024 Top 70 was Codex only, and Disco Elysium placed 19th (highest rated game since the previous poll). I wouldn't have put it so high if it were up to me, but that's Democracy.

That "Disco-like" is a prime way to drop my interest in a game to zero Kelvin. With "lime loop" being a close second.

I still haven't played DE purely because of the whole PCGamer "wow I get to RP a communist, best game ever!" review and the aura of masturbatory self-regard that seems to surround whoever likes the game as a smog. Maybe unfair, but goddamn does it have an anti-reputation for me.

Well, barring the overwritten nonsense parts, DE had its moments if you were going for a MAXIMUM ASSHOLE run.

And yeah, fucking Cuno!
