You cracked! YOU CRACKED! I know because I remained steadfast during the torture scene and I didn't get that. +M
There're a few silly little references they slipped in though. Like "Monterys and Jarl".

Just got a glossy 24" VA panel monitor the other day (screw matte finishes and glowy IPS with its non-blacks) and dark/gloomy games like Darkness Within 2 look fantastic on it. Locations like this have become immersive on a whole new level.

I admit glossy is only as good as the room you put it in. Thankfully my computer room only has one window off to the side so I get no reflection problems, with the added benefit of a cleaner image and better looking whites. Much better actually.

I see Sims Medieval got mentioned ; and I daresay it's a decent game until you find out there is no difficulty and that the game forces you to restart at zero if you do want to progress.

Darkness within? Why have I not heard about this game ? Is it any good?
Actually my screenshot is from Darkness Within 2, but I'd recommend both games. First one plays similar to Scratches/Barrow Hill while the sequel gives you more freedom of movement like Amnesia. Both pretty cool Lovecraftian games with awesome atmosphere. Obviously lower budget but that doesn't hinder them. Think "Dark Corners of the Earth", now remove the shitty popamole shooting and you get the Darkness Within series.

You can check Youtube vids just to be sure you'll dig them. I say this because they're not on GoG or even Steam, I guess they're too niche and indie? No idea. You'll have to grab them off either Gamersgate, Amazon or torrents. Both are around $10 and I highly recommend grabbing the update patches for both games as they fix a lot of bugs. I think a third title is coming eventually or I at least hope so. The devs are just a small Turkish team so who knows. Even their website is borked so it's impossible to find any info.

Don't let all the DESU-ness fool you, this game is hard as fuck! Took me almost an hour to get past this boss!

Suck it up, bitch.

I actually managed to beat the game, but not even the end boss with 3 life bars was as hard as this motherfucking cheating woman.

Im done with the game... its cool, awesome cutscenes, decent story, horrible gameplay.

Hm? 'Horrible Gameplay' for poor old Hostile Waters? Why? I'm curious. Elaborate.
It's worse than Battlezone or Uprising 2, without doubt- but the controls are smooth, the action rewarding, the graphics still good.

Cutscenes and story barely rate as mediocre, in my humble opinion (and today they're hilarious. DEATH OF NATIONALISM. WORLD PEACE. EVIL CAPITALISTS.) The voice acting was...adequate, at least (Maybe the best 'Friendly and enemy chatter' I've ever heard, after Dawn of War 2 and Space Hulk) . I dimly remember they took some comic book writer for the storyline.

Good point. With some photoshoppery it does look like Xeen's trying to brofist.
