Pcsx2 or native pc version? I remember having serious problems running the 3rd part, I had to use some tweaking program for graphic cards to work. It wasn't perfect and had some minor glitches but I didn't found any other solution to the problem. Damn Konami and their "support".

PC port. So far, the only problem is lack of V-sync (constant screen tearing). Forcing V-sync via drivers fixes this, put introduces artificial slowdowns (game keeps switching from 30 to 60 fps constantly). Checked the webz and many people report this.
Leeching PS2 version ATM.

Speaking of artificial slowdowns, most console ports I encountered had a problem with rendering stuff in resolution higher than 800x600 (or even 640x480 in some cases, rarely - other resolutions).
That applies to Silent Hill 2 (in 1280x1024 ran fine, 1600x1200 ran like crap), Matrix: Path of Neo (ran okay only on low settings + 800x600), Project: Snowblind (works okay in 800x600), Deus Ex: Invisible War (runs okay in 800x600)... and that's about it from what I could remember just now. Though I remember having trouble with KOTOR 1&2 in high resolution, so I had to play it in 800x600 + AA.
Consider trying the same, maybe it'll help.

Didn't help, but thanks.
PS2 version works decent, constant 60 FPS most of the time. Too bad I'm ~3h into PC version. :(

So, PC (slowdowns):

Or PS2 + Pcsx2 (solid 60 FPS, quicksaves, various output modes, working v-sync):

Which is better and why?

It appears to be some kind of sabre toothed cat wading over to him for some tasteful fun. Have I mentioned that mod looks like ass; I appreciate the author's hard work but it looks like someone chewed a bunch of crayons then vomited on the screen and

.... then tried to clean it up using vaseline.

Stuff tried:
- running the game with different settings (from max to min)
- forcing v-sync via drivers
- forcing v-sync via d3doverrider
- XP exe compatibility
- forcing exe to use only one core

Nothing helps. It's possible that there's no "soft" solution, since SH2 PC requires this:
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=51003708&postcount=203

And even with that fix, some people still report problems.
On the other hand, PS2 version works great on Pcsx2, but I have to test it more.
Either way, I'm gonna end up as the guy to the left right:

Strange. IIRC I only had to apply the official patch and hex edit the exe to add widescreen resolution.
Anyhoo, PS2 emulation is not much of an option to me, unless I finally upgrade my GPU.

In one the various herculean efforts to make ma book, I HAD to boot up Diablo 2, load some decade old save games and play it for a couple of hours to... ahn... get screenshots:

It's very weird to play hunting for nice images, instead of loot. :3

More Xenonauts.

Major Jennifer White empties her bowels and runs... into the UFO. That makes sense. Obviously, she did not make it. What really sucks is that she had the best accuracy of any Xenonaut I've yet seen in the game. I don't know what caused her to snap, but she is no mas.

B-Team runs into Colombian-flavored trouble as a UFO sweep turns into chaos. A Reaper (Chrysallid) sprinted out of the UFO and got one of my better soldiers. Things more or less went downhill from there. The good news is that I managed to capture a Reaper.

A couple of times I've caught Reapers sneaking up on my guys. You really have to watch your six.

I started December of '79 with about $300,000 in cash with only two bases, one of which was in North America - except the United States has withdrawn their funding. Things are looking pretty grim.

I could't finish Dungeon Siege 3 when I played it. Too much bad hack & slash gameplay, not good enough of a story. How are you enjoying it?

Silent Hill 2&3 on modern rig (Win7 x64)

1) I was able to "fix" my slowdowns problems with SH3 by forcing "V-Sync: Adaptive (half refresh rate)" setting in drivers.
So, instead of variable FPS (mostly 60 FPS, but dropping to 30 FPS from time to time) I got constant 30 FPS. With occasional stuttering.

:negative:

2) PS2 version looks dope (Pcsx2, 3x internal resolution, FXAA):

MYkukox.jpg

Too bad it's kinda slow. But 2xIR and no AA works great.

3) Decided to give SH2 PC a try, but it won't even install:

0EE8y6W.jpg

According to Google it's p. common bug, but no solution (compatibility mode, running as admin) worked.

:negative:

Leeching PS2 version...

Well, using DosBox + Win98 or VirtualPC + Win98 just to install the game...
Then trying to run it natively in Win7 (fiddling with options, using fixes)...

Maybe using Pcsx2 right away is better idea...

War. War never changes. Or does it? War has changed. Did it? The answer is no. Unless it is yes. No, of course it is. It is war. Yes. No. Yes?

Don't be fooled, the game tried to have some plot, but that try ended in this way:
