I'm not sure why WA is more popular these days. I also have no idea how well WWP runs on modern OS. If I really had to pick one I would probably keep WA.
I'll give you the one correct answer to why this is: ninja roping. So much awesomeness in WA, rope racing maps, amazing roping tricks, etc. It was always about the rope. When I found out the 3d ones didn't even have it I was devastated.

EDIT: That was actually a quote from Astral Rag, but fuck me if I am gonna go try to fix that quote.
