Terra Nova: Strike Force Centauri:

Played on default difficulty except on mission 4 and the last one, where I had to reduce it.

The stats for my squad are a load of bollocks, unless the game counts kills done when there are away on other missions.

I'm late to the party as usual, but Primordia

Haven't had this much fun (and feels) with a game in a while. Had to play through it again straight after finishing it to see alternative solutions to stuff I fucked up earlier and all the endings.

The fact that retards demand map warping in a game where it's completely unnecessary is probably the reason why the metroidvania elements are superficial in general and you can save anywhere a million times in a row. Combat is awful in the same way it's "awful" in a lot of platformers, in that it's really basic and enemies are just another type of platforming hazard most of the time.

Arrival in the city of Daggerfall after escaping from the Privateer's Hold. It had begun to snow.

bzyhy8E.jpg

Daggerfall has perhaps the best single-character customization of any game. Not seen here are the numerous advantages & disadvantages that can be chosen. Spell absorption leads to various exploits for a magic-focused character.

r5012iW.jpg

The view around the exit from the Privateer's Hold, where the player-character is shipwrecked at the start of the game.

cLT2QzS.jpg

The first dungeon that I was sent to for a quest. After searching for some time in vain, I finally stumbled across this area: a vast room with multiple towers leading up, one of which lead to the object of my quest.

QXQBLug.jpg

Procedural generation at its finest.

FkSMNzd.jpg

Inside Scourg Barrow lies the King of Worms, leader of the necromancers, standing on the right in this picture.

UsZpq64.jpg

Sentinel's architecture is typical of the province of Hammerfell.

szYRseu.jpg

The throne room of Sentinel. I didn't ask Queen Akorithi about the nearly-nude men flanking the dais.

aw7vWB1.jpg

Castle Wayrest, the City of Wayrest, the Kingdom of Wayrest. One of the three main human powers of the Iliac Bay region, with Daggerfall and Sentinel.

KElJZFe.jpg

The palace of Sentinel.

qRJK4fj.jpg

A vast chamber in Direnni Tower, which you need to traverse four times in the course of the main quest.

ia6knrp.jpg

Medora Direnni, a powerful sorceress and the lover of the deceased King Lysandus.

P7eXmIY.jpg

The treasury of Orsinium, stronghold of the Orcs.

waYneVL.jpg

This clothing store takes security seriously.

4Km11Q5.jpg

The entrance to Lysandus' tomb.

vYk2lj1.jpg

The Dust of Restful Death allows you to speak with Lysandus, who tells you what must be done to bring his spirit to a permanent rest.

i824BsH.jpg

Queen Barenziah and her daughter, Morgiah. The Andyfall mod gives them a proper Dark Elven appearance (which was blackish in the days before Morrowind's blueish Dunmer).

lnsYUdA.jpg

Return to the city of Daggerfall. It was still snowing.

OqgE1WB.jpg

King Gothryd, son of Lysandus, and Aubk-i, daughter of Akorithi.

8t98XQg.jpg

The treasury of Daggerfall houses the Totem.

zIcoOJ2.jpg

There are 16 Daedric Lords that can be summoned, each providing a powerful artifact in exchange for fulfilling a quest. Hermaeus Mora is the only Lovecraftian one, though.

oeGMczm.jpg

A pyramid in the Mantellan Crux.

cjzD8K8.jpg

The Daedric Lord Sheogorath, Prince of Madness, shows up twice in the Mantellan Crux.

3BmOksO.jpg

The Mantella itself. The terminus of the main quest.

A3wWOIn.jpg

I've always had a soft spot for the cutscene that plays when you start a new game. The Emperor sends you to Daggerfall to put to rest the vengeful spirit of his old friend Lysandus, and also to retrieve a letter of a "sentimental and personal nature".

Ceville

Ceville is a rightful tyrant of a magical kingdom whose subjects rebel against him.
aDyOTZ3.jpg

Soon he finds out the reason for rebellion is much more devious.

Ceville gets one ally that believes him and helps him escape the dungeon, a little girl Lily.

In the meantime other villains are being brainwashed into submission by the forces of good.

Well the game is simply boring. Puzzles are to easy and not interesting, the jokes rarely funny and the story completely losses any sense by the end (everybody talks to Ceville like his some adventurer instead an escaped tyrant trying to get back on the throne).

Excuse the gloom...

Talking about Thunderscape in another thread awoke a powerful wave of nostalgia in me, so I decided to give it (yet) another go. Who knows... I might actually finish it this time.

The game is far from perfect, might not even be good but it has many things going for it :

Adorable paper dolls/character sheets

UxQgV4Z.jpg

O78dnvY.jpg

Fully explorable 3D world with hidden rewards in hard to reach places.

ig75X8d.jpg

IfbdoQA.jpg

Phased based combat with choice between the precious "repeat last order" option or specific attack modes.

And that joy when you hit a new level and get to distribute skill points.

I guess you're refering to the infamous thunder sound.
I don't mind it that much if it doesn't get in bugged mode when it endlessly loops. And I love that corny 90's metal music a lot more than many epic fantasy masterpieces.
