I think you mistake passing valid criticism on a game for not being able to enjoy it.
The most criticized points in SR:R OC are linearity and too easy combat (and probably short length). Nobody sane could argue with those points, they are true.
Still, I had a great time playing the game.

And I don't see why I should not have a great time with a DLC which is slightly less linear (and hopefully also with more challenging combat).

Also, I fail to see the difference between what they described for the Berlin campaign and what you describe as mission-hub based structure.
You have some place and can find quests in there. Sounds pretty much like what they described.
Sure, it would be good if there were more than just one such mission hubs, but in the context of SR it makes sense to have this focused on very few locations.
I agree it was far too linear, too easy, and too short, I just don't see a reason to get so butthurt about it. DMS was a fun little campaign. Even if Berlin isn't much more substantial eventually a fantastic mod or two will come along to fill that place.

Guess I'm a very shitty player!
Didn't find it to be extremely easy.
Too short indeed; but at least the good story was definitely worth the play! Will buy Berlin!

Not really.
Rather a Riflemage with some Decking abilities.
But I get the point; maybe if you specialize a little smarter than I did it might be a pretty easy game, I don't know.

Actually, I found that my build sucked quite a lot early in the game.
Shamans are useful in late game, where spells like haste actually do something, but the early game spells for shamans are almost worthless. First I thought "slow" would reduce the AP an opponent has, but when I noticed it only reduced the number of tiles a character can walk I was like "WTF? Yeah, very useful in a game where most combat is ranged :/".
And more so in open areas where 5 tiles of fire/lightning/etc. can easily be prevented by the AI.

What is useful about shamans in the game are the summonings, though. Those rock. But are also pretty expensive.

I don't really like how they arbitrarily altered how shamans work in SR:R. In the actual SR ruleset, shamans and "normal" mages work pretty much the same.
The only differences are in the source of your magic. Normal mages have a natural talent and have to train that through study, while shamans are chosen (you CAN force that, but good luck lol) by their totem and the power comes from the totem. At least that is how we always played it out. Also, there are some bonus rules for normal mages and also for totems (like a shaman getting bonus in some magic schools, while getting drawbacks in others, each according to the kind of totem).
And in SR:R, the totem is nothing more but a pretty bad spell.

Those all seem like reasonable reasons to delay it - I'm still very much looking forward to the DLC. :)

Sound pretty good HBS. I'll buy it when it's released.

Does anbody know how much the DLC is supposed to cost?

Sounds to me like they are doing ok with sales, enough to make this decision.
Probably. Even a month after it's realease it is still on Steam's Top 50. Which is damn good for a low budget game.

Decker player detected
My Decker with a high pistol skill kicked ass. :D

He probably just made unwise choices for his runner team.

I'm guessing anywhere between $10-15. They'll use the fact that it's as long as the main campaign to justify it as well.
Doesn't bother me though. In a world littered with medieval fantasy games, Shadowrun's mere existence is a plus.
