And a little reminder, Skyrim had actualy a fairy competent concept designer
skyrim_art_29.jpg

Go check some Obivion art, theres only few of it, and it mostly standard banal shit boring
Clearly recognizable as Windhelm, albeit a bit better looking.

I'm noting a conspicuous absence of base Oblivion from that list.

Shame he died :salute: .

What's the big fuss about how characters look anyway? Most people play the games 1st person
Do they also nuke all the NPCs from beyond visual range?

The more pictures I see the more I can imagine playing an RPG only consisting of pictures instead of a walkable environment (and where enemies are popping up on the screen, similar to adventures). Not ideal for this type of game, but blobber-based gameplay like Wizardry (or the Japanese versions) would totally work for that.

It does sacrifice a lot of complexity though.

I like being able to set party's archer on high vantage point or party's rogue in the shadows to pounce on the enemy rear rank filled with juicy casters (or do so with my main character in case of single character game).

Skyrim Dunmer generally are fine. Worst thing that happened to them is their VA ( "Ello guvnah. I sweah ive got nuffing to do wih it" ). Of all the shitty ones they had; what was wrong with the one from MW? I thought it fit them well.

Died from throat cancer.

He does Jiub in Dawnguard as noted above, Haskill in Shivering Isles, and the Mr. Handy companion in Fallout 3 :M

Don't think so, the image quality suggests he took pics from a TV (therefore playing on the 360).

You have to get creative with the sliders to make monsters, but diseased skin is not very hard. I once created a Joker altmer - that hairstyle in bright green, bright red lips, alabaster skin, angular facial structure and black pants/shirt (no purple suit in the game apart from sheogorath's robes :( ). Tried to play as unarmed (with the unique monk gloves hidden near the arena) for the novelty / extra psycho value but eventually got bored.

(also it was vanilla so an unarmed / unarmored character wouldn't last past level 10 anyway)

If that's true then that was unfortunate on my part, and I regret that. Since voicing Jiub is relatively recent it'd seem logical to choose him (Jeff Baker) for the job of voicing the other Dunmer. But alas.

Still, the new actor is chosen poorly though.

I was joking . Because the dunmer in Morrowind sound like chain smokers. He did Jiub in Dawnguard, so he's still alive.

I found a Jeff Baker (didn't know his name before looking it up) who died of cancer in September 2013. So, you know, I thought Jiub could have been his last act. Fuck you, man . Still wasn't sure it was him though.

:5/5:

Edit: It wasn't on the wiki so should have known better. GG.

I always liked that, because living near (recently) perpetually active Red Mountain gave them smoker voices. At least, that's what my young self came up with. :MI think The Lore says that they sound raspy as hell cause of Azura's curse.

It was more interesting than just plain east Londoners or whatever accent it is in Skyrim.

The guy who did the voice of Joshua Graham voices a number of Dunmer in Skyrim. Such a waste of that beautiful voice.

St Jiub wiped out the cliffracers, but then that Rifton chick Mjoll the Lioness mentions hunting cliffracers in Moronwind with her daddy.

He didn't wipe them out, he drove them out of Vvardenfell.

Whoever thinks that Oblivion is better then Skyrim is a moron.

Technically seen - yes. But I still don't like the environment. Texture Packs didn't help either.

I could understand this only if you have some kind of sick tree or grass fetish, since Oblivions environment consist only of those two things.

Whoever thinks that any part of Oblivion is better then Skyrim is a fucking retarded moron.

I remember this thread! Morrowind is still the superior game of the three which makes this thread a little bit silly! Actually Morrowind is truly, truly in the top of the top CRGPs games ever created, all things considered. The arguments have been made so many times now. Lore, setting, art direction, voice acting, scope, role playing the list goes on and on and on. Even Jeremy Soule had a stroke of genious that time with a brilliant score. I can forgive him for many things because of that.

I remember trying really hard to create a hideous mutant like those in Oblivion and failed. Are they using mods?

It's fairly easy actually, just finding the right sliders is the difficult part.
Some sliders are linked up to each other, so increasing/decreasing them will have increase/decrease others.

It doesn't matter what slider one touches, but sliders two and three when combined need to have increased the total value of the first slider, and they need to counteract the other so you can max them out again. So it's usually like this:
Max out slider 1.
Max out slider 2, this increases slider 1 beyond its limits, and may decrease slider 3 simultaneously.
Max out slider 3, this should decrease slider 2, slider 1 should be unaffected or further increased (or further increase it).
Max out 2 again as to push 1 even further beyond its limits.

The interplay is a bit more complex, but that's the basic gist of it.

They all look the same to me. +M

I had to reinstall this. This time, I went for an Imperial with a pensive look.

"I've seen you in my dreams...!"

I think the truly extreme stuff was patched out at some point though. The nice thing is that the best part of the game ends just here.
