Those new smileys just don't work. Too little contrast between black and red. Sitting further away from the screen, I cant see if it is a smile or a frown.

Whereas with yellow it is still clearly distinct at the same distance :/

I agree. I don't like the troll smileys, and I made them (well, DU changed color to a brighter red).
I think a set of normal smileys would look better, or a more pale version of the troll ones (if we have to use trolls).

The cropping to make it fit into that size sort of removed a large part of the original image symbolism, by cutting the Israel flag coming out of the horn, but you can still spot the blue and white over that horn if you look closely. And that cape the Kwan whale wears in the image is an Israel flag as far as I remember.
