I don't get the value proposition for videogames

Spend $2000 to build a nice PC, buy a game for $50 then spend 60-200 hours zoning out and playing the game. Learn nothing, gain zero life skills, put up with toxic online community, fall further from God, etc...

Even if you sit around and flip burgers you'd at least make $500-$2k in that time. If you really want to play games just play old shit on your current PC. Nothing has changed with games in the past 20 years besides graphics.

One reason why consoles are clinging to their position in the market.

That being said, you need a reasonably expensive PC to use a wide range of software beside video games.

+billion

Nowadays PC gaming is have not enough value to justify expensive hardware... but it used to. It's not a matter of video games themselves but of their current quality.

There is. Literally. No. Fucking. Reason. What. So. Fucking. Ever. to play console games. The End.

So what exactly am I supposed to do with that $500-$2k? Please indulge me and imagine that I have my basic needs covered and that that money I would be making by flipping burgers would be gratuitous. If I can't buy entertainment with it, what should I use it for?
You could invest the money. Or save it up to buy the burger joint from your boss.

Since the first position on your list didn't even come out, and is in dubious status right now (perhaps vapourware, largely delayed), I would dismiss it in it's entirety.
But I took a cursory glance at it, nevertheless. You mention games even 10+ years old.

I know he said 20, but there's this concept of hyperbole, you might want to look at.

Edit. Fuck me, you're trolling. Some of those are not even PC exclusives.

Actually, the real question is which game that isn't a hopeless popamole cinematic shit fest that didn't came out to PC? If you are playing on a console, you are just playing on a shitty PC. Only exclusive Sony has that has decent gameplay on it is Bloodborne, Microsoft fares even worse.

I have a nice rig, but PC gaming isn't that worth it. I maybe have 5 games that I play, and only 1 game really justifies me buying my computer, modded Skyrim. Overrated. Console gaming is a lot better, and really, I still play old ass games that my old ass computer can still handle.

Also, at Age of Decadence. If you guys were trying to convince me to buy a PC for that game, I'd stick with the console.

The time I like is the rush hour, 'cause I like the rush
The pushing of the people, I like it all so much
Such a mass of motion, do not know where it goes
I move with the movement and, I have the touch

I'm waiting for ignition, I'm looking for a spark
Any chance collision and I light up in the dark
There you stand before me, all that fur and all that hair
Oh, do I dare, I have the touch

Wanting contact
I'm wanting contact
I'm wanting contact with you
Shake those hands, shake those hands
Give me the thing I understand
Shake those hands, shake those hands
Shake those hands, shake those hands

Any social occasion, it's hello, how do you do
All those introductions, I never miss my cue
So before a question, so before a doubt
My hand moves out and, I have the touch

Wanting contact
I'm wanting contact
I'm wanting contact with you
Shake those hands, shake those hands
Give me the thing I understand
Shake those hands, shake those hands

Pull my chin, stroke my hair, scratch my nose, hug my knees
Try drink, food, cigarette, tension will not ease
I tap my fingers, fold my arms, breathe in deep, cross my legs
Shrug my shoulders, stretch my back - but nothing seems to please

I need contact
I need contact
Nothing seems to please
I need contact

I play Path of Exile, so I need the best gaming rig there is.

It will lag like hell anyway.

Anyway, OP is a popamole faggot. Play old gaems, they are the best.

You don't really need a top of the line gaming PC unless you are planning on gaming in 4K resolution with every setting cranked up. However, the experience provided by the PS4 in many games is subpar and you could be doing much better. A decent gaming PC powered by an RX480 or a GTX1060 would net you 60 fps at 1080p at high or ultra settings depending on the title. If you go for something more expensive like the GTX 1070 then you'll be able to play at 1440p and still get 60 fps or go for 144 fps at 1080p.

If you own a 144hz monitor, framerate starts to become relevant again, since anything under a GTX 760 won't be able to stay at 144 fps.

Upgrade your monitors, men. It's one of the most impactful upgrades you can make. Once you have 144hz you'll never want to go back.
