Hope someone from the codex get it as well, otherwise watchwitz will be part of the exclusive discussion group and will get to influence the game with no recourse from the codex.

END TIMES ARE NEAR.

quick, lets organise a fund-raising drive.

2 from GOG. Well that was better than I expected (I expected none, since no one posted in the thread).

I really like this idea, but I'm concerned that no one is actually going to make anything worthwhile with it.

Well, that depends on how the end result is. I'm still a bit butthurt since they stole my idea (development tools released for backers).

If the engine proves to be flexible enough (custom systems for ruleset, magic, combat) then hmmm... Maybe I'll just switch to this. That'd be $10k spent in something else than basic engine coding.

Good idea. Would let developers/modders complement the UI's icons with a background matching the theme (assuming you can change the icons too).

I was glad to see the comment made recently, that party size is not set to an arbitrary limit. I had a feeling it would be like this, given the influence of the Gold Box games and other toolsets, but nice to get the confirmation.

I'm planning a module for a six person party of course.

Thanks udm and Dorateen. I'm thinking of having a themes button in the setting panel. Themes will include the background image and button icons. Basically, I think this would work by having a UI folder with a bunch of sub folders. The standard sub folder would be called "default". It would contain all the images for each button and background. You could then create your own folders, or download community made ones, that contain custom icons and images using the same naming conventions. So from within the game you can use the UI theme chosen by the module creator or switch to another one. If I make a Star Frontiers like module, I want to have a space type theme :)

The party size can be any size that the module author wants to allow. So maybe in certain situations you pick up a half dozen henchmen during an encounter or summon a six pack of skeles, you can do that. The only trick is getting the main interface to allow for all the PC icons. Could do like NWN2 and have a vertical scroll when needed. I will definitely make sure that six fit on the main window without any scrolling.

FYI, for those with the Alpha Tier or higher, I hope to have an in progress build available each month. First build should be available at the end of December.

Thanks again everyone, we need $400 more with 3 days to go to hit the great $2k stretch goal. I'm sure we can make it! Let's go Codex :)

Wow! we hit the $2k faster than I thought thanks to a number of backers increasing their pledges, spreading the word, and a few new backers brought in through tweets from Josh Sawyer and Obsidian. I'm super excited about reaching the $2k stretch goal. Now I can start working on my Star Frontiers esque story ideas :P

Just happy for you and I hope many will partake of this new engine and create some good ol' games in the gold box tradition.
