And while still on xcom topic, i liked that game, but as soon as i discovered that allready described issue was insta alt f4 and uninstall, never looked back. Do they still use that same mechanics in its sequels and is it easy as people say it is? Hmmm gonna google some mods for it and the one you recommended aswell. Hopefully its not same mechanics, coz they just dont make sense.

Since you're already into Xcom, try Jagged Alliance 2 and Silent Storm.

Btw, Jagged Alliance 2 is 80% off on GOG:

and Silent Storm is 70% off:

Just picked up Gothic, Underrail, and Silent Storm for 12 bucks total.

Any game that has an Ironman mode.

Legend of Grimrock is a walk in the park, but on hard with Ironman mode it’s a lot more exciting.

You want to try Natural Doctrine on PS3. You can emulate it if you have a good enough computer. Check it if you like really hard tactical rpgs.

It looked ok for a throwaway low budget Kadokawa SRPG, nothing terribly amazing about it but nothing awful either.

My friend, if you want to play good games, and if you want to play difficult games, there's no choice but to broaden your horizons on the graphical front.

Sadly, we do not live in a universe where most graphically advanced, but also good, but also difficult, games exist in any real quantity. You're essentially trying to find a pink unicorn.

If topic starter wants good looking but challenging games he can look for Mods.

I want to add that 99% of developers (those who can forum too) are pussies because they think very low about target audience of their games.
I know you cant do challenging games because they do not sell. But you can at least do difficulty option, right?

No, not Dungeon Siege, but Ultima V and VI modifications for it.

^ This is the hardest game I've ever played. And one of the greatest.

To a lesser degree also the following:

^ on hard difficulty it can be difficult

^ I recommend playing the first one first, but it's much easier.

Enemies drop easy, but so can you.

People thx for all replies didnt see the thread for awhile, but appreciate it all, like the comment about pink unicorn so true, games dont have to be super good looking i mean underrail is one of my best single player games and it looks well not bad. Anyway thx, might try toee with circle of eight, tried that b4 but i think i couldnt get it working so i gave up. And pathfinder kingmaker is the pink unicorn, more of those would be swell. Might even give a try to iwd 2 hof mode again since i never finished it out of boredom.

Strahd's Possession. I *dare* you to beat that game without referencing the cluebook or any guide for that matter. Greater Catacombs, Elven Crypt; Caverns are going to be so fun! Hah! If the dungeons don't get you, the arthritis inducing clickty click clacks will. It takes a strong will to survive Count Strahd!
