I've also made some videos over the night - awesome program, it feels so overwhelming.
Planetarium with objects known to mankind plus mostly realistic universe generator to make up the remaining stuff.So... what is this? Some glorified interactive screensaver/screenshot generator?
The saddest part about the new version is lack of stability of generated universe between versions, meaning all the cool places from version before no longer exist.
But that would be too much to ask.
Dem space Cleve monsters are just waiting to eat you
virtual planetarium is best description it has every object known to man in its database and when you go behind horizon it will generate new galaxies and so on.
You can toggle anything you like.I didn't know jupiter had this many rocks orbiting it
Anyhow, populating far away galaxies and giving some planets to stars is ok but I'm not keen on procedural content in general. It's nothing but clutter when all you want is a real 3d map(RIP Celestia).
see gameplay section on planned features list, so long as this russian bro doesn't lost interest or die first i think he intends to make it a gameAny chances somebody will ever make a game out of this?
honestly at this point he probably doesn't give a shit about "gameplay". He probably focuses only on creating best planetarium you can get
Probably your system cannot gravitational lensing.Does anyone else crash upon trying to approach a black hole?
Well, if so, good for him. He's made something really unique and if he wants to refine that until he's satisfied, then that's fine with me. The last two Space Engine updates have been fantastic and the game's crashes have decreased so much. It used to be I had to keep shifting the LOD and slow the fuck down in globular clusters, but now it takes slamming into Earth at 10 giga-parsecs to make the game self-destruct. There's still the odd occasional crash, but the usual suspects have been fixed.
Still, making a game out of Space Engine would be damn cool. Actually having some resources and conflict with the exploration would be a game I'd be very much into.
Probably your system cannot gravitational lensing.
I figured, but I can run everything else on the highest settings. What could it be that I may have to disable to watch these?

Honestly this is the best way to find out that world is huge as fuck and you can't comprehend just how big it is.
When I started the program the first time I was fucking terrified after travelling with a few parsecs so I had to quit. Now I'm surfing the empty void between galaxies like a pro. :D Anyone seen the edge of the observable universe?
Oh and there are also a fuckton of mods. Anyone tried those?
