Todd writes furiously. . . .

I don't think you should insult janitors that way. Even the best janitor in the world wouldn't know where to start cleaning up the mess that is Oblivion. And every janitor in the world is clearly smarter than Todd, so he certainly wouldn't have anyone smarter than him working at the company.

Besides, Bethesda doesn't have a janitor. They just took all their waste and dumped it into little boxes labelled "Oblivion", remember?

I'm quite amazed at Bethesda's brilliance. By brilliance, I mean brilliance in their ability to make a poor game even worse. Todd must be so proud of the "Mods of Todd" spreading around the globe.

Of course! Why didn't I see it before! The Main Quest of Morrowind was trying to warn us of what was really going on at Bethesda, and tell us what to do:

* From his lair at the mountain Dagoth Ur(Bethesda), Dagoth Ur(Todd Howard) planned to release the corprus disease(Oblivion) out into the population.
* The other Dagoths (Pete Hines, etc.) all helped to spread this disease using their magic powers (marketing PR and mods).
* The Sleepers (Oblivion fanboys), Ascended Sleepers (ESF moderators), Ash Slaves (game review sites) all helped him in his evil plan for world conquest (BEST GAME EVAR!!!) by spreading the meaningless phrases from their dreams (Radiant AI, physics, soil erosion).

Hmm. Where do you think we can get hold of a person born under a certain sign to uncertain parents?

Exit.

Does VD know who his daddy is?

Actually, this mod does add new spells, in a way. They existed in Oblivion, but were not avaiable to the player.
And some of the fanboys are getting really excited: "Summon Bear?! OMG!!!"

On the other hand, this is a nice mod. At least it fits seamlessly into the world, unlike the other official mods. If it was free, it would have been good.

For those who don't know, Morrowind also had official mods: http://www.elderscrolls.com/downloads/u ... lugins.htm , which were of about the same quality as their mods for Oblivion. Only free.

I'm really starting to wonder how many PR plants there are on the ESF.

*images poor (well, actually filthy rich, but anyway) X-boxers trying to scrolls down PAGES AND PAGES of spells, with no way to delete most useless ones all all*
I almost feel pity for them. Too bad that feeling of malicious joy prevails, he-he-he.

What's really sad, they still didn't include a way to delete spells for the poor 360 users - that might've made the .99 cents worth it.
Could become even more annoying. These new books probably add the spell to your inventory automatically when you read them. Pick up a book, and oops, another unwanted spell gets added. . . .

You know, I even hate the spells. Not specifically, but conceptually.

Sommon bear combined with fortify strength and resist frost? What kind of bullshit is that?

I just noticed that the plugin is "coming soon" - wtf, it's not finished yet?

This is not news worthy VD.

"OMG Bethsoft IS MAKING SHITTY MODS AND CHARGING PEOPLE FOR IT!"

It's supposed to be a Nordic spell. The spells are not that bad conceptually. The problem is, they can't really be applied to reality. The "underwater escape" spell is pointless, because you'll never want to escape in that game, and suppose you do, you can't do it underwater.

The expansion pack will fix all of this, giving you ample opportunity to fully "Role-Play"tm using every Premium Mod.

It will also require every Premium Mod.

LOL! This whole thing has gotten so embarrassing the Bethesda Devs won't even hang out at their forums anymore.

Sorry, but if you want to roleplay on Oblivion you'll have to buy the roleplay module. That will be another $9.99

They probably were asked not to communicate with the fans anymore, but instead leave that to Pete 'The Vorlon' Hines.

To quote a line from Startrek VI: "What about that smell? You know only the top of the line models can even talk."

Ok that's it!

Oblivion should have been a fun 3D Diablo(2) with more dialogs.

A run around & kill everyone fast pace action real-time fun hack and slash.

I'm sick and tired of oblivion trying to be a real RPG.

I can't enjoy playing it when it tries so hard to be a real RPG and failing so miserably.

Why can't BethSoft understand that?

edit-----------------------------------------------------

My last post just gave me an idea.

We should all go to Bethsoft forums and start threads like:

There are too many attributes, is makes the leveling too hard. A real RPG is about killing stuff, not attributes, if I wanted attributes I can play NWN.

Why so many skill spell proficiency? Why can I just have a spell level (WOW :) a true RPG)?

Armor just work, is doesn't make any sense to make the armor depended on skills, on classes yes but not on skills (D&D anyone? this is a true RPG).

What does Athletics and Acrobatics do for me? Power attacks are a much better idea, how about special attacks (leap attack w00t :D) that takes a little Magicka, it would be much better (again like WOW).

Sneaking and lock picking in a RPG you play the hero that saves the world? Heroes don’t Sneaking and lock pick, Heroes fight and cast spells, this is the real deal, spells and swords is fun, and if I wanted to sneak around I play Thief.

Mercantile? Speechcraft? How does that help me to kill staff? I don’t get it.
I bet if we start threads like these on Bethsoft forums, all the console kiddies will jump on the wagon with gusto, and maybe Oblivion2 night be a fun game. It wont be a RPG, but then again we are talking about Bethsoft here, at least we can 'help' them make a game we can enjoy playing.

So how about my little conspiracy, anyone wants to help out?

Yeah, I totally want to help Bethsoft redefine the concept of a PCRPG like how Square "redefined" the RPG with FF7 for the console kiddies.

I remember that thread. The comments saying "stupid consoal kiddy" amused me.

Oblivion and teh plugins are funny and all, but wtf is up with those spambots. This is the first forum I saw them on. None of the other forums I usually visit ever had them. Is it because rpgcodex is so popular (OMG! ROFL!) or are you guys running a really old version of phpBB or something?

In defense of the Codex, some of those bots make better posters than the average poster on ESF.
