With Patreon, you pay X ammount of money after each of his videos. It is not a bad concept if you want to support someone, because this way you only pay if they produce content. Opposed to say..paying X ammount every month through paypal, regardless if they do any work.

Can't help but like Spoony, he's one of the few people I've been following for years who's content hasn't gotten old for me, as with The Cinema Snob. I can even get enjoyment out of his fucking V-Logs (though sometimes he does admittedly get caught up in nit-picking a bit too much, which made his FFXIII review a bit of a let down, though it came off to me with those that he was trying to emulate Pinkett's style of reviewing and not really nailing it).

Could be that he's the only one of them who had the common fucking decency to buy better video and audio equipment when he started hitting it big, while the fuckwits at Channel awesom still use $20 mics they got at bestbuy and their laptop camcorders.

I agree. I think he has a natural talent for comedy (that might be a bit strong wording there) and that TOGETHER with him being actually audible and watchable makes him stand out. Channel Awesome is a complete shithole of unfunny, low budget, self indulgent idiots, I hate them with a burning passion. For the same reason I really hate it when spoony invites one of those retards into his videos, like that British imbecile with laptop mic who you can't hear nor understand. They are not funny, they are the equivalent of real life idiots wearing shits and waving signs with internet memes on them.

I even like the shitty v-logs when the topic isn't too inane, like the Counter Monkey is ok, I liked the v-log where he responds to the criticism of his Deadliest Warrior review.
I hate those fucking v-logs where he comes home from the cinema and proceeds to make a film review while disgustingly chewing on some burger throughout the whole 20 min video. It's appalling and disrespectful (example Indiana Jones review).

Sorry, I haven't checked Spoony's Patreon site, I only saw Matt "not J_C" Barton's site, and he uses the pay/video option. Spoony seems delusional. But it seems it's working, because he get's 1600 dollar a month by doing 2 videos/month. And I earn 500 bucks by working 8 hours a day goddamit!

Yes, I understand. But it's not free entertainment because you watch the ads and invest your free time, as apparent by the fact that Spoony makes living off it. These are literally extra gifts. I'm not sure if you ever had the misfortune of watching his streams, but Spoony nowadays is basically an unlikeable asshole tempered further by jaded cynicism towards everything in life which he has accumulated over the years. He tries to hide it with "oh, I'm such a snarky reviewer" shtick, but it really comes through in his streams where he can't edit it out or be more careful about what he says. His Twitter shenanigans are just an indication of this.
