SCR also broke custom maps and mods (again), broke the aspect ratio on the cinematics, and infested the version history of the base game so that everyone is stuck with the new client whether they like it or not.
It's the same shit at the core of it, WCR just has some extra shit on top.

Didn't SCR actually delete your custom map folder? Afaik WCR only removed the the access to custom maps from the menu but SC straight up deleted the entire folder or some such. It was either one of the modern patches or SCR. Just something I seem to remember from one of the SC streams I occasionally watch.

Not sure about SCR, but they did that with SC2 actually, when the expansions came out you could lose everything in your maps and mods folders.

Remastered really has plenty of issues on its own though, even if you ignore all the small details and custom content and just focus on the graphics, you can find plenty of things that are subpar like the way explosions, blood, zerg morphs and other effects are animated compared to the old game.
