Yo!
It struck my fancy in a dream last night; why don´t crpg campaigns START, or END in inns or taverns, but rather CONTINUE?
From the top of my head, I recall NWN1 expansion starting inside inn, with major hook being levelling up about 15 times, and that´s about it. Then, I think, in literature only Dragonlance started inside an inn. In wow, the hearthstone mechanic made every inn/tavern a nice place to stop by teleporting right in to return quests/sell loot. I think that, and Diablo 2´s town portal/identify scrolls was very essential in the popularity of those games.
Can anyone tell, why the inn start hasn´t been used more often?
