Review Stealth Game Codex Review: Mark of the Ninja

You know, considering how System Shock 2 and Deus Ex always make our top RPG lists - action games with RPG elements - it's easy to see why they'd allow this article. Even though, of course, Dark Souls isn't included in that kind of list because it happens to have been released on a console first...

So why isn't System Shock 2 / Deus Ex an RPG? I expect clear arguments and please don't resort to ad hominem.

The people who are arguing things like "if you don't like, don't read it" are falling on the same (stupid) argument that many use in gaming discussion: "if you don't like a certain feature in the game, don't use it". This reminds me of the things some people said (even here, and in NMA) when Fallout 3 was released - "so you don't like VATS, ok then, don't use it", "if you think that 'Little Lamplight' is retarded, just don't go there", and stuff like that. Even in the Wasteland 2 forums we hear things like "we have to definitely put the X mechanic in the game, and if you think it's stupid, damn, just don't use it".
