At the turn of the millennium, the world of Tahnra is headed for a reckoning. The long and bloody conflict of Veridian Succession left the Empire of Veridia scarred, its people subject to brutal hardships. Under the reign of Empress Florina, the vicious cycle seemed to be broken, until a rogue General abducted her from the capital, mustering his own armies and raising the flag of rebellion. You, a young academy graduate, will command an expedition against these forces… a conflict that will set off a chain of events and shake the very foundations of the world.

  • 2D Turn-based Strategy RPG
  • Squad-based player army
  • Story-rich 30-40 hour Campaign with huge replay value
  • 50+ Character classes for your troops
  • Massive depth of tactics you will learn through natural play
  • Limitless possibilities for how to build your characters and squads

The gameplay focuses on grand-scale operations, outwitting and out-planning the opponent, while individual battles are carried out automatically and are thrilling to watch unfold.
  • Maneuver squads of up to 9 soldiers across battlefields and seize the advantage by grabbing high ground, holding chokepoints, ambushing from the woods, and more
  • Pay attention to the weather, or fall prey to a sudden blizzard or heat wave
  • Liberate towns and capture resources to bolster your reputation and sustain your armies
  • Break the enemy's morale, while maintaining your own
  • Eliminate enemy squad leaders to shatter their chain of command

Tactics win engagements. Logistics win wars. Once the dust settles, it's time to collect the wounded, rally the troops, and prepare for another battle in the long march to peace on Tahnra.

  • Assemble squads from more than 50 unit classes, including heavy infantry, archers, shock cavalry, medics, arquebusiers, dragons, battle mages, and more
  • Outfit squads with equipment and artifacts obtained through looting and victory
  • Nurture your conscripts into elite warriors, or hire mercenaries to instantly boost your army's fighting prowess
  • Research upgrades through your faction’s tech tree across a multitude of classes to specialize or generalize your troops for the job

The graduates of the Imperial War Academy were sent to quickly contain a rebellion, but became embroiled in a vicious plot far beyond what they could imagine.

  • Meet friends, heroes, allies, and rivals from the many different factions across the world
  • Manage a dynamic relationship system, unlocking iconic conversations, unbreakable bonds, and powerful bonuses between your characters
  • Experience an epic tale brimming with malice, treachery, and ambitions, as the fragile peace of Tahnra unravels

Looks like the demo was updated, now it actually feels like the game being described and not just a combat demo.

There are three scenarios and you get to freely customize your squads (recruiting, squad composition, unit class change, buying equipment) between each. Took me about 2 hours to get through it all, but I spent a lot of time in the town menus just figuring stuff out.

The scenarios are so-so, it takes minimal effort to get all secondary objectives, but it's the first three scenarios so I'm not judging the game too much based on that.

Some random screenshots:

It is welcoming to have a game that has the forming of many squads of different units and their formation.

One can recommend as appetizer, games such as Himeko Sutori (although limited with front and back rows of formation) and The Last Remnant (although its automatic class promotion lessens it) for having more than 4 squads to form/customize to manage for one's army and are not of the Real Time Strategy genre such as Age of Empire.

Can some one add more example & recommendation, such as on Ogre Battle series and the like, to play until this game development is complete?

There's no many games like ogre battle sadly, we are talking about a subgenre of tactical games which is already niche as it is.

It's not out yet, but Plague Lords will feature multiple squads that you form/customize (in this case, "on the fly")

The squads in Symphony seem to work similarly to Langrisser on the map, although perhaps Brigandine is a better comparison. Age of Fear has similar unit mechanics.

Hello everyone!

I'm happy to announce that we've brought back the Demo and it's staying up during the game's development, right up until we're ready to announce a release date! We will be updating it often and posting patch notes here and in Discord[discord.gg].

Some changes from the previous Demo:
  • There is a "Play Demo" option available that brings you to a chapter in the middle of the main story, when the hero is faced with impossible odds
  • Multiple graphic and balance changes
  • Previously reported Lag, hangs, softlocks largely addressed
  • The Intro, character creation, and first 3 chapters of the main story are available
  • Arena functionality is in
Full gamepad support, UI/UX/Usability tweaks, and functionality passes of artifacts and traits are still pending, among some other bug fixes, etc.

We are working furiously to get this game ready for launch - thank you for your support and we hope to see you here and in Discord:
