Ah, modern day gaming. Everything is filtered and upscaled to blurry vomit. Literally worst generation gaming so far. Well atleast there is slightly more variation between building models compared to stormgate.

They should really thank the stormgate guys for giving the audience lowered expectations.

Eh… the SG disaster is probably more harmful because it scares off investors. Tempest Rising would need to do really well to bring investors back. Like, invent a new esports well. Because investors are shallow morons who want to monetize esports, not DLC.

Investors will come if game sells well. And quality of campaign and quality of ranked MP will decide that.

Not sure I can be bothered into playing something where an MRLS engages in a face to face fight with a tank and… wins.
Looks good tho

They must have a sandstorm subsystem for specific maps, I suppose.

The graphics/art style is like 7000% better than Stormgate.

Will see how this one does. I just want a cool C&C type campaign.

I tried two games vs a friend, we both sucked at the game as those were our two first games and barely had any idea what we were doing but I did notice few things. T1 units are really bad at killing buildings, even if you got a lot of them. Healing units can also outheal damage of such units if you do not force target units. Pathfinding is kinda bad, units will get stuck behind others, you need to manually move units into range, not sure if that is bad or good since it promotes micro.
Engineers take over buildings way too fast, they need to make it like in Generals or in Red Alert games where building needs to be damaged first and bringing one engineer into building will damage it first until it is low enough to be captured. Atm you can bring one Engineer and take over enemy CC in 5s..

Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath
Yeah first game I tried to just spam low tier units and that explains why I lost. Second game I upgraded buildings and purchased doctrines but still failed. I've noticed the bad pathfinding as well with groups of units just standing still and not engaging. Hope they can fix that before April 24.

Oh, and I like the fact that the medium setting provides a challenge. It's far too common that "medium" is in reality easy.

e: To me the game has bad readability where it's hard for me to make things out visibly. In my memory older 3d RTS games were better in this regard like C&C3 and AoE3. However it can be that I'm not attuned to this game yet. But I really suspect that earlier 3d RTS games like Generals had better readability of what was going on, just talking about the visuals.

In Generals you used less units, seems you can spam more here. Also units tend to group up into blobs like in Sc2 which is also bad for readability and pathfinding problems come from maps having a lot of tight spaces.

I played some games vs randos. Seems they actually made the unit movement better and more realistic, I didn't see vehicles awkwardly clip through eachother when moving in groups. Can't comment on the pathfinding cause the PvP maps are small and I personally didn't have any issues with it like I did in the campaign missions that had lots of bridges and other points of congestion. As for T1 units being bad at killing buildings, I disagree. In some of the games I played I quickly blew up half the enemy's base with rocket troopers or buggies before he could react. Maybe it's an issue with GDI cause I mostly played Dynasty, I think they're more fun. Also the wrecking ball unit sucks dick. Not only does it look retarded and is poorly animated (it moves at like 10 FPS while everything else is smooth) it's bad at its job and only decent at killing infantry. They need to improve it remake it or just remove it outright and replace with something else.

Anyway, I think the game is much more polished and pleasant to play now. It's no Red Alert but seems pretty good. Might :d1p:. Hope they don't abandon it after release and make the flying pyramid ancient aliens playable.
