Some guy started a Icewind Dale in TOEE engine total conversion a few years ago. He abandonned the project at some point but I remember playing the intro chapter. The thread should still be there, somewhere.

Icewind Dale conversion is dead, but you can read about it here: https://co8.org/community/forums/icewind-dale-total-conversion.108/

Someone else did Keep on the Borderlands in the engine, which you can read about here: https://co8.org/community/forums/the-keep-on-the-borderlands.45/ and download (among other things) here: https://co8.org/community/forums/download-central.90/
KotB is a very basic module from the old glory days of AD&D pnp. But it is pretty good for a low level party adventure in this engine. It has a decent amount of content and lots of options. Pretty well done i’d say. I tackled it with a less than optimum party. Maxed out characters are not needed.

Only PnP I ever played. We were like eleven and couldn't stop thinking about it at lunch.

Then tits happened.

Nitpick: adventure module B2 The Keep on the Borderlands was the second of two modules written for Holmes "basic" D&D (first published in 1977), and a revised version was included with the 1981 "B/X" Basic Rules D&D by Tom Moldvay (though this only lasted two years before itself being replaced by the "Red Box" basic set for Mentzer BECMI D&D).

I have this box in a trunk somewhere. There's a Playboy hidden in it.

I have the original module around somewhere. It's a pretty straight adaptation so don't expect much in the way of story.

According to the Acaeum, a near mint copy of the B/X Basic Set is worth $135. +M Though module B2 by itself is worth only $26.

I know it's buggy but is this game supposed to be very laggy on modern hardware... It happens while panning the camera.
There's also a lot of audio crackling.
Using Linux btw.

This is a known problem if you're in the elemental earth node, especially when there are Galeb Duhr present. I think it can happen in the other nodes, as well.

Does anyone know if there was ever any fix for this? I remember just chugging my way through it.

I'm under the impression Temple+ fixed it.

KotB mod is not finished but pretty well done, you have some C&C and some previously underused mechanics like unarmed combat are used as quest solutions.

Yeah. The infamous Earth Node hang-up. The game would freeze for a few seconds and even possibly minutes. Temple+ fixed it.

Other than that I know of at least one serious attempt in the works, might be next year or so but it's hard to say for sure. Stay tuned I guess...?
Are you referring to the IWD2 mod or something else?
Something else. The guy posts on Co8 occasionally but wisely keeps a low profile on his mod.
Hey waddayaknow, it's out:

Where can I find information about this mod?

Never mind: https://co8.org/community/threads/new-module-approach.11177/#post-154645

Has anyone tried it?

Edit: I finally managed to install ToEE, the Co8 mod without new content, ToEE Front end and Temple+ with the Paladin's Cove module and get it running. I managed to make a party and start the game and the starting location, the eponymous Paladin's Cove village, looks amazing. It's cramped and there are buildings that can't be entered but the guy who made this took some real care in the area design.

I got to play about 10-15 minutes, which mean talking to a half-dozen NPCs and entering a shop to buy starting equipment before the game crashed when I entered an Inn and started dialog with the barkeep.

It's almost certainly some issue with the anti-virus on my computer, but my desire to play this mod may just motivate me to send my gaming rig in to get the power jack port replaced.
