Simultaneous turn-based combat?

I just came.

On the other hand...

You look at something like Hearthstone, for example. It's sort of that going back-and-forth process, and you see the complexity and detail and strategy and nuance that can happen. It's really an amazing system. I love those modern influences. I took a lot away from that, and see things we need to do with our combat system.

Re: Hearthstone

Fargo's apparently a huge addict, so in retrospect this isn't so surprising. But who will be the lead designer?

In The Bard's Tale IV, teams attack all at once. This increases the pace of the combat, and allows for a different set of tactics than the traditional system might allow.
This is good. Very good. As much as I love TB, I also fucking hate waiting for the the opposing team to complete their turn.

Hearthstone [...] complexity

Hearthstone is a great game in the same way Bomberman is a great game but... complexity? Really?

(also who gives a fuck about bard's tale..?)

There will be a crowdfunding push for The Bard's Tale 4, as well as funding coming from InXile.

crowdfunding confirmed
It all depends now on what it will be. If it is some modern rpg papamole then sure as hell he won't even get 1mln

(also who gives a fuck about bard's tale..?)

exactly

Less bitching, more news finding.

To be fair, it could be something interesting, but talk of "modern influences" throws a wrench in the works. Then again, it's Fargo, so it's likely to be just talk.

IGN reacts to the announcement:

The other posts are all about Fallout 4 as well, since the headline called Fargo a "Fallout creator". Bodes well, doesn't it.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
This is a kinda meh announcement, I'm not getting excited over this. All depends on what he will promise in the kickstarter, though. Might end up being a good dungeon crawler if he does it right.
