Updates:
#0: Meet The Codex (this update)
#1: The Warm-up
#2: A Bit More Serious This Time
#3: Bugfest
#4: Downs and Ups
#5: Fire, Clay and Ice
#6: This Certainly Took longer Than Expected
----------
So, I've heard that Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition is overall a but it has a new adventure module available, called The Black Pits. I wonder how The Codex would fare against it?
Why not check that out?
The Black Pits are available instantly trough a streamlined button on the main screen. Can't miss it.
I've wasted too much of my life on BG character generation screen. Good thing I won't have to do that ever again. EVER. Clicking Import.
Being a badass level 7 Fighter/Mage/Thief, The Codex won't have any problems with this module, I think.
This should be a cakewalk. Mr Trent Oster won't know what hit him, as we plow through his creation. There's really nothing he can do.
Well, fuck.
Must be some save game format incompatibility.
No problem, though. I'll just import from a character file instead of a save.
Finding where I should put the file took some time, but no more of this shit. I really don't want to spend ANY MORE TIME in the BG character creation screen, so this better works.
NOTE: I tried to get it to work, but it was futile. Maybe now, after a fuckton of patches have been introduced, I could actually import The Codex and try a solo/insane adventure in The Black Pits, but back then (I played this soon after release) I hads to go with the alternative approach.
Update #0: Meet The Codex
I underestimated your powers, Trent Oster, but don't think you can stop me with windows errors! The Codex will defeat your module!
NOTE: "dwelver" is a hybrid word of "dweller" and "delver". It was a completely intentional creation, not a typo.
Yes.
Definitely not a typo.
Ok, where the fuck are we?
I don't know, but it does not seem to be a vault.
Again with the vaults. How about we do something else than pursue riches for once?
Why would we?
Spoken like a true thief.
A swashbuckler.
We have yet to see any actual swashbuckling from you, girl.
I'll show you swashbuckling when I...
SILENCE!
It seems we are not alone.
Great observation, Mr. Perceptive.
Tasloi don't really count as people, do they?
Not after we finish with them.
Meet The Codex:
Lord UnderDark the half-orc berserker is our leader. His vegetable intelligence of 1 does not stop him from being very effective in his job, as he simply kills all insubordinate underlings. Usually by staring at them intensely.
Dwelver of Vaults is an Elven Archer, a bit obsessed with vaults. He's the fastes and most accurate bowman this side of Mississippi, but has some problems operating melee weapons. He says he's going to learn that on Thursday.
Verbius Pro (aka The Saint) is a dwarven Priest of Talos, who does not take shit from anybody and usually bludgeons everybody who tries to give him shit with his mace. Also, check out his sweet Saving Throws.
Jae-Sun is a Korean Monk from hell. It is said, mostly by him, that he strangled thirty-four people to death with his bare hands in one combat.
Femme fatale Swashbuckler archer The Becrooked is our token female of the group. She has a knack for all things Asian (except maybe Jae-Sun), so fights with a Katana. Or rather, intends to, when she ever gets her hands on one.
Last but not least, Tain Un-Tal the Sorcerer is the groups arcane spellcaster and voice of reason. He does not like adventuring much and is really looking for a good place to settle. He has not found a suitable one yet.
Die, not-person!
Anyone knows what happened to our gear?
Do you need anything more than a stick to fight Tasloi?
Well I AM an archer. That kind of defines me as needing a bow to be effective.
My superior kung-fu training makes me unaffected by this situation and able to laugh at all of you.
Just try.
Am I the only one here actually fighting?
You seem to be doing fine.
Hey! What the fuck!?
