and xbows do quite a chunk of damage when turned into fire xbows

no no no no... xbows go only physical and lightning, no turning them into fire (because there are no fire bolts), only bows go fire (and magic but not lightning since there are fire and magic arrows but no lightning)

Wait... so a fire xbow only does the physical damage portion?

Gatdamnit, I made my light bow fire because it had higher damage output than light xbow.

EDIT: looked it up and yeah. Wow, how terrible. Guess I need to farm a new one and make it a standard +15. Bleh.

Well, there is a glitch you can use to apply enchantments to ranged weapons. They're all pretty awful anyways though, really only suitable for cheesing enemy ai. Though I suppose a sunlight blade'd crossbow triple firing bolts of lightning would hurt like a motherfucker if you actually hit something.

lightning avelyn + lightning bolts is awesome (and +15 is also pretty good), and a chaos black bow of pharis/composite + fire arrows or an enchanted bbop/darkmoon bow + moonlight arrows are also really good and deal quite a bit of damage to most enemies (and are even decent in PvP, although +15 with poison/large arrows is probably better.. and significantly cheaper)

Tumble buff glitch? Yeah. I'm trying to get the hang of it and the move-swap glitch to see if I can fucks around with some silliness. The weapon swap mod has its moments of comical changes but it often is drowned out by the constant crystal ring shields and insufficient strength weapons.

One thing about the black bow of Pharis that I dislike is that it has a lengthier draw animation than other bows, so it fires slower. My favourite is probably the Composite Bow (which I use at +15 for quality builds and Occult for my Faith build). My favourite crossbows are the heavy crossbow and the Avelyn. Avelyn I like on my Dragon character because of the insane damage it does with the buff, but the long reload animation is extremely punishing if I miss, which is where the Heavy Crossbow excels. It has a much shorter reload animation and you can use it to great effect to finish off opponents or to punish certain attacks (for example, a typical situation where crossbows excel is at surprising sprinting people who are preparing a run attack)

If you want to use a fire bow, you need to use fire arrows. The damage will be correct at that point.

Almost done with my first playthrough. I haven't had this much fun with a recent game in a while. For some reason the game aesthetics reminded me of Golden Axe a bit.

Been playing a bit of it on and off. Made a wanderer and promptly died horrbily 6 times because I thought I needed to fuck up the Piggy Demon with a hilt, HA!
Then I realized I had run away for realz.
Then the game masterfully lets you feel like a badass, slaughtering peons left and right, I was so pumped up that, when I unlocked the door that lets you see the Piggy Demon I was taunting him.

Then I go to the balcony and a 5 second long mexican standoff starts.
Me, on one side, that was starting to feel less of a conqueror since I had to get dwn there again.
Him, that was wating to see if my bravado from behind a locked door was holding up.

Then he just flies up (like I knew he could do but kind of forgot at that point) and fucks me, the balcony and part of the floor up.

:salute:
:5/5:
Would die again.

What is that, x2 speed? I'm not sure I want to fight the demon for more than half an hour, but uh, good on the youtuber.

I always play that video whenever I need a good laugh AJ is the king of popamole indeed...and he just promised a review of DS2 :D
Oh and I actually prefer that after you get the lordvessel the game steamlines a lot of the back and forth running and the game opens up for first time players to pick and choose.
I know most gamers hate New Londo but it is one of my favorite areas along with DLC Oolacile

Man the game seems to go downhill after getting the Lordvessel. I am disappoint.

i think it's because they were quite obviously rushed a bit (New Londo could've been awesome, maybe even better than Latria, if it was twice as big and more open, Duke's is really good, Tomb is too short, and DR/Izalith are just utter shit and the most obvious rush job... although i think that one of the major reasons everything after AL feels kinda lame/tame is that O&S are [for most people] the toughest, most challenging and satisfying bosses in the game, and the "boss rush" is a really big part of the whole experience)

Lets hope Dark Souls 2 was not rushed.

Lost Izalith especially felt rushed. The area is so empty and the Demon Ruins before feels like the Capra/Taurus demon's were placed there by a game designer intern.

Lost Izalith was bad yes. Rest of the areas were fine in my opinion. I didn't actually like the DLC that much, sure Artorias and Manus were great bossfights but otherwise meh. At least they weren't long areas, and the lore surrounding Oolacile was great.

Latria second stage is the best level in the Souls series, huge moody and increibly deep.
I hope we get to see something half as good from DS2

I don't know if any of you are into PvP, but this is pure art.

Yami Tamashi is the best PvP player I have ever seen. Sometimes I miss the goddamn riposte when I switch between weapons I already have equipped, he enters the fucking menu and changes both his weapon and his ring.
