felt too tired after the long working week to go for Manus, so I spent the whole evening farming twinkling titanite and souls from clams

the worst part of farming demon titties is the long slog to him. he dies pretty quickly to pretty much any chaos weapon. nowhere, nowhere near the annoyance of DaS2 farming the aerie with those drakes and their well over 10000 HP (after 1-2 ascetics) and the goddamned lizards and their shitty hitbox

The clams are easy to do if you're a sorc; soul lance does the trick usually. But you probably don't care about twinkling tit if you're a sorc =(

The best part about the clams is that they're very conveniently placed for farming, and they're ultimately easy to turn into Japanese food and twinkies in short order even without sorcery. It's really just down to luck on the drop rate. As mentioned before, demon titties are horribul due to the placement of the respawning Titanite Demon being a REALLY long lap for farming efficiency.

It takes ~thirty minutes to clear Dragon Aerie to the extent needed to upgrade three different weapons to maximum and an assload of souls, at SL7+ ascetic tier. It takes up to hours to achieve the same in DaS1. Boring it may be like all farming, but Aerie is REALLY efficient.

(Drakes' hitboxes nothin', the worst part about them is their goddamn wings obscuring the camera whenever they walk, and the way they push you around when they walk seemingly forever; at least they can be killed pretty quickly with a proper weapon tho provided it doesn't feel like taking a stroll)

Are any issues with clams? Seriously?

I kill one in two hits. Also equipped by the snake ring, I got a shit ton of titanite AND purging stones, which can be sold to Frampt 1000 each. Oh yeah and also one clam nets you 1000 souls. A very awesome deal bros.

And another thing: I do not plan to farm any demon titanite. I'm totally content with my +15 manserpent and +5 lightning zweihander.

BTW bros, I heard that you can help The Spider Lady by giving her a lot of Humanity and you can talk to her if you trade a ring from the crow in exchange for the helmet I tried to get for Sunbro, before he tried to kill me. Is it worth doing?

With the ring, it reveals a tiny bit of information about her through her dialogue. And changes the servant guys dialogue a tiny bit. That's it

If you have a lot of humanity to burn it gives you a couple things at rank 2 covenant. Worth trading the helmet? No, since one of the two benefits you eliminated the use of by that point. If you want to do it, I'd recommend just taking the Old Witch's Ring as the gift item.

What does it mean bro?

Meanwhile, I just understood the advantages of my STR build after 48 hrs in the game. I just tanked Manus. I wanted some coop via Steam because I was bored, but couldn't find anyone. So I equipped Havel set and just bludgeoned that fucker:yeah:

I have it on steam, but haven't been able to log into GFWL. IS there some kind of GFWL bypass?

Also, what's a good class for a beginner? (assuming I can get it to work)
I started with a Knight, he has the best gear and can survive a lot in the beginning because of good defense/health. But he's pretty slow wearing his armor, almost no dodging in the beginning.

The coop is surprisingly enjoyable. I've just managed to beat the dragon form the depths with the help of another guy and my sunbro. Which reminds me, isn't there an easier way of getting back to firelink shrine from the depths, like some shortcut of sorts? Do I really have to travel aaall the way back there by foot? I wanna see what the guys that I've saved so far have to sell.

(If your 1st playthrough proceeds as fast as mine, you'll reach it about after about 10 hours of proceeding further into the depths beneath the Depths. And of these 10 hours at least 5 will be spent on thinking about killing yourself in frustration.)

But srsly, have you lit the bonfire in the Depths? It's not far from the surface...

absolute, 100% horseshit.

a) to upgrade 3 twinklie or boner weapons you need 45!! upgrade materials, aerie gives 6-8 per run (depending on the RNG on the shitty dragons), and after a couple of ascetics the dragons have well over 10k HP, meaning unless you have the highest tier sorceries (pre-nerf geyser, maybe CSS?) or hexes (or miracles? how does sunlight spear work), it takes forever to kill them and they constantly slide around, and the hitbox on their foot stomp is absolute bullshit (once it will kill you straight away, another it won't even scratch, a third time it will take 75% of your health even when standing 5m away. and btw, with 40 dex and a manslayer, poisoning them ~4 times and hitting them all the time, it goes through the durability at least), plus you'll surely run through all the way at the very least twice, if you're very lucky, to get all the 11 crystal lizards 'cause after a while they can't be one shot even by forbidden sun (maybe GRS?), and some of them will randomly run in random directions, plus they have some semi-random i-frames on their wake-up. so, all things considered, you're looking at something like 10-30mins per run, depending on build and luck! so you're looking for at least 20min if you're lucky to upgrade 1 twinklie/boner weapon. the only thing "superior" to DaS1 here is that you get both twinklies and boners in a single run (and slabs), but then again it takes more materials to upgrade, there's way more useful boss-weapons in DaS2, boss-shields now are a must to upgrade (since now it increases stability), and the majority of good armours are also twinklie-upgraded. so yeah... there's of course also the giant lord farming for infinite twinklies, and you'll need quite a few ascetics so you'll also have to farm those

b) in DaS1, you can buy twinklies for 8k a piece, it takes only 10 for a full weapon upgrade, farming the phalanx yields 8-12k in less than a minute regardless of build. you do the math. chunks? also an average of 1/min if you farm at the Kiln, maybe more if you're lucky with the RNG at new londo (plus the chance of slabs). demon titties? there's very few weapons worth upgrading, so you'll be farming maybe once or twice max. dragon scales? only if you use MLGS, and then you'll find enough just playing. really, only slabs are shit to farm, and there's only 3 guaranteed per playthrough

It's not far from the surface...

yeah... running from the BF to the entrance to the depths is.. what, 2 mins? and than 2 more mins from the entrance to Firelink through the sewer shortcut (Wulfstand: if you haven't found it already, opposite the entrance to the depths there's a lady selling stuff [be absolutely sure to stock up on anti-toxic mosses (blooming purple)], and then later on get some poison arrows... 100 should be enough. anyway, if you proceed straight in that sewer tunnel you'll get to firelink)

Guys, why are you farming twinkling titanite when you can just buy it in Anor Londo?

If you don't care about online play, you can make an offline account that doesn't require you to log in. The game will eventually be patched to use Steamworks instead of GFWL, so if you can't get it to work now it's not a big problem.

Thanks, that worked. Playing as a knight. Made it to the Gargoyles. Awesome game.

So, bros, I beat the game!!!! :yeah:

What an awesome game! Though by the end I got tired of this kind of gameplay (it's not typical for me to play this kind of games) and pretty much tanked the final bosses, got Kalameet and Gwyn from the first try, they just couldn't stand my onslaught.

However, despite I really loved the game, I don't feel like playing any of other souls games, at least in near future.

Thanks a lot to bros, who helped me out in the thread, I'm too young to brofist you.
