Only if they try to somehow argue that it's good for society to jaywalk or something equally retarded. But keep trying to take things to logical extremes even though I never mentioned jaywalking or speeding.

I think you might find these people probably agree with your ideas on piracy.

Eliminating piracy could have had a large effect on people's lifestyles up until the mid-2000s. Now it'd just mean more time to burn on YouTube, Internet forums and social media.

Eliminating piracy would also make some people buy games that would otherwise have pirated them. I sometimes think of how much higher sales numbers for certain games would go if people bought instead of pirated. Something like GTA V could be sitting at 70 million copies instead of 56 million, even COD or Skyrim could be at 30 million or more copies than the 20 million they do.

Yeah, the doom is definitely approaching. The delays are getting longer and longer. Piracy won't die out, but eventually it will come to a point where it'll be better to wait and buy games at huge discount rather than deal with cracks. Which is fine by me anyway, not like I have time to be beating more then 5 games a year. There's always some back catalog stuff to play.

You're saying society would benefit if we could effectively prevent crossing streets where there aren't any street crossings or motorists going over the speed limit on any given road?

I mean, he already thinks it'd benefit from people being unable to make digital copies of things, so sure, why not?

Society will not crumble with piracy, but please stop pretending you are Mother Teresa by pirating a game which for all respects should be paid for. You are taking $$ out of someone's pockets. FFS just own up to it instead of trying to pass it off as some noble deed.

Saying you're not a thief is just being a coward about what you're actually doing. At least I already openly admitted I steal movies and TV shows. Just stop with the justification already. It's kind of pathetic really.

Today I learn that if I couldn't pirate things, I'd magically have more money to spend than I actually earn. I suppose I'd have turned to robbery so I could pay for HBO. Truly I have made society worse by my actions, I'll stop pirating and start mugging people right away.

Hilarious. Dodging the actual issue. I never said you should stop pirating. Pirate away. I have a whole hard drive worth of pirated games from when I was in college (which I incidentally never really use, since I always buy my games now that i have $$).

The real issue is that you're not enough of a man/tranny or adult to just admit you are stealing. Instead you and others try to throw around ridiculous notions that what you're doing are good things that will improve the world in some way

Again, just be a man and admit you're fucking stealing. It's ok. Your brofists will not be taken away.

Except he's copying, not stealing. There's no product being removed from inventory.

If I copied your mom and fucked her you'd be pretty pissed off Excidium II.

Also, not sure what your mom has to do with this, but by judging from your avatar she's prolly chubby and I love fat chix.

Again, I'm not saying the laws around piracy are not ridiculous or inconsistent. But just stop with the "I'm actually doing something positive!" bullshit about piracy. It's retarded.

I'd fuck her copy too, just for the lifetime achievement.

I dunno, having pizza and game is a positive outcome compared to having just game.

Stealing implies depriving someone of something they would otherwise have. There is no scenario in which every company from which I pirate could possibly receive money from me. None. One might as well argue that it's theft to simply hear of a game without buying it.

And I do believe making more copies of games, music, movies, tv, etc. so that more people can share their opinion on them even if they can't afford it all is a good thing. Assuming I chose not to pirate anything and simply consumed far far far less media, I'd be a far less discerning customer, with shittier taste, and pretty much none of the people I HAVE given money to would have gotten that money. I'd be buying the latest twitcher or dragon age once every few months and raving about it like a fanboy. This is not a benefit to society as a whole.

Let me put it this way...is it cool to pirate...say Underrail? AoD? SiTS?

It's ok if you feel less guilty about pirating EA shit. I don't feel gilty watching pirated anime or pirated HBO stuff. But I don't have some kind of sense of nobility by doing it. I understand that someone or a group of someones is gettig paid less due to my piracy. But meh..I'm ok with it. It is what it is. Cuz I'm an adult *SNLsketch.jpg*

Motherfuckers...I DON'T CARE IF YOU PIRATE. I FUCKIN PIRATE SHIT TOO.

At least I have the decency to admit I'm a low level thief in that regard. Jesus, you guys have no sense of rebellion. I bet all of you play Alliance on WoW.

This is basic economics...supply and demand. If supply (lowered by people not pirating) is lower and demand stays the same...then what? Price goes up. Which creates an economic benefit to say...bethestards...or Obshitian..and those employees can pay for their bestiality porn or AIDs medication or Tranny surgery, etc.

I seriously am having a hard time understanding how you don't see this.

EDIT: Also, for like the sixth time, I'm not saying you should stop pirating. I'm saying stop pretending it's a net benefit to society. It's not. You're just being a poor or lazy 'tard. That's ok. But at least just admit it.

I mean, if you wouldn't have tried it otherwise and pirating it sold you on the copy, then yes, absolutely it's cool. I don't think anyone out there is pirating a shitton of games and then only paying for the worst ones.

I'm not exactly sure why you think bethesda raking in the cash with more sales than ever while Underrail slinks off to a corner to die is a good thing.

Not exactly sure where you're getting this. I mean you do realize Underrail is being pirated as we speak right?

So what, if people can't pirate it any more, it magically gets more sales? Why? They also can't pirate music, tv, movies, or any of their other games. Why would they have bought Underrail instead? Why would they have even heard of it, when 90% fewer people will have even tried it?

Erasing piracy does nothing to supply. Devs create supply, copies are unlimited to begin with, whether from piracy or legit purchases, there's no limit on either. Demand, however, is limited, and wiping out piracy can only shift demand from what is good to what is popular. It means less word of mouth. If you wipe out word of mouth, the only information left is marketing.
