Game News The Dragon Age toolset is massive, just like the game.

Toolsets don't fix broken games, just like playing with a toolset is no substitute for self-masturbation. The toolset is a moot point. It's all about whether the shipped game is any good.

Also, my package has a toolset too, and she loves to fix things!

Until I see proof that there is an exterior heightmap in the toolset, I'm going to stand by my words that the toolset will be just as shitty as the Witcher's toolset - where you have to buy 50 different programs and learn how to use THOSE tools to make decent areas for the primary toolset. FUCK THAT. Might I add that the one oriental designer (Scott I think?) pretty much confirmed that a lot of what they use in-house at EA-BioWare wouldn't be released with the DA Toolset.

There is different terminology with the DA Toolset, you create 'levels' with the level editor and then populate those levels in the 'area' editor. For level creation you choose between creating an exterior or interior level. Exterior levels are a bit like NWN2 as in they have terrain that can be raised or lower or painted with different textures. (You can also place down 'props' which are in effect placeables that cannot be interacted with.)

For interior levels you have a flat surface and you essential put blocks of models together to form the interiors.

You don't have to buy or use any exterior programs to use the toolset, (I suppose if custom content comes into the equation you probably need something not included) there are a number of included tools included in the toolset including things like the face morph editor, the cutscene editor, vfx editor etc.

WTF is this shit?

No, no shit. Information easily gleaned on the DA toolset forum.

The cutscene editor is a particularly neat tool, no more having to script cutscenes as with NWN and NWN2.

I couldn't help but wonder why Jasede was defending DA's toolset at first
