The point is that he is popular youtube clown and can influence things big time. His xbox drm rant had like 3 mil views and he also argued with major nelson on camera which was really bad for xbox one's reputation. Giving this shit mmo a bad reputation is always good. So much money and resources were wasted on this dull crap it's unbelievable.

Given enough time, the probability that a Codexer buys a game that's bashed on the Codex, approaches 1.

I like the exploration aspect of MMOs but hate the gameplay. So it's always a weird tug of war between enjoyment and frustration.

i never understand you fuckers buying a mmorpg to play it solo. and to pay a fucking subscription in 2014:hahano:

I want to see the world they designed and get what core lore there is to get. Doubt it will take more than 30 days. If it does I have a thing called money in such quantities that $15 doesn't make my ass feel raw.

I'd rather pay monthly fees (or something like GW2 model) than play any of those free2payTM bullshat

Say what you want about WoW, but i dont regret a penny of what i've invested in that game

Over there.
So I took the plunge too. Fuck it, I've got money to piss away. It's surprisingly not that bad. Granted, one has to consider the Codex axiom of "It exists, therefore it is shit", so in this case, it's less shit than some of its peers in the genre.

Bought this during a moment of weakness today, basically just to see its effect on the series. I am retarded.
What kind of weakness was that? Sounds serious if it makes people buy into scrollocausts.

Can DU implement a lifetime ban on everyone who posted in this thread saying 'this doesn't meet the standards I expect from TES', and then goes and tries to get KKK by saying how shit Oblivion/Skyrim/Bethesda are?

I'm getting sick of the whole 'pretend that this is somehow worse than what you expected' that goes on in relation to games that everyone here already knows are shite.

The first pieces of Daedric heavy armor have started to show up in the end game. It's easily the most awesome looking suit in the game:

So, I dinged level 30 with my Khajiit Nightblade. I'm really having fun with the game. Currently I'm questing in Shadowfen area and I'm must revert my previous words on quests. I don't know maybe the writing in this area is better but there are some really cool stories and quests.

Of course it is not a single player game, so there is a harsh limitation on how much quests can influence the world. So it will never beat Morrowind, but I must say that I'm enjoying following the quest lines.

I see some flaws in the game, but they do not overcome the sheer fun I get playing the game. Of course, limited number of active abilities to be used is because of consoles, it would be much better for me if I could use more variety in combat, a couple of hard bugs are irritating (haven't experienced them myself but guys get their bank erased with all the items gone, main quest bug blocks access to veteran content, etc.), bots camping public dungeon bosses, terrible idea of gathering loot in instanced dungeons...

But the game just suits me. Issues are not crucial and majority of them is in process of fixing. Lots of questing in the world which I like, can't understand people who choose to rush to max level by AoE grinding mobs instead of playing the game.

Worst thing with TESO are players. Players complaing that they have to "grind quests" and "have to put too much time to level-up"? Complaining that there are too many zones packed with quests, you have to read dialogs instead of collecting x items/kill y mobs, complaining about too many pre-end game dungeons, game is too long before end-game? They skip quests and exploration (so miss a lots of skillpoints) and than complain that veteran content is too hard. WTF! Putting aside bugs and bots, game is really cool as for MMORPG. But if they listen to carebears, all the initial idea will be screwed - already some bosses in quests were dumbed down. Why? Cause people could not understand very simple mechanics. For example, you could kill one of the bosses just by spamming damage on her, from time to time ball floating towards the boss appeared, if ball reaches boss it heals him - but if you destroy the ball, boss does not get a heal. And that was too hard for the TESO crowd to understand, FFS!

If anything kills this game it's the carebears crowd screaming for dumbing down the difficulty level, stripping down unique boss mechanics and getting every skill point from grinded level ups removing the need of exploration.

I'd love to force these people to play The Secret World. They'd probably blow their brains out upon encountering the first mission that wasn't about killing enemies or, god forbid, it turned out to be an Investigation mission.

They're end-game MMO players. I dislike their priorities but at the end of the day Zenimax made an MMO, they have to please those people. It's the same tired story where they tried to appeal to singleplayer and MMO gamers and annoyed both.
